  • Patent number: 7731827
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for capturing charged molecules of interest traveling in an electrolyte flow stream through an electrically non-conductive channel, comprising at least one anode and at least one cathode individually separated from said channel, but in electrical contact with said flow stream, by a conductive ion selective semi-permeable membrane. Said membrane interferes with the normal migration of ions towards its respective electrode, generating at least two zones of different electric field. Balance between hydrodynamic and electrical forces captures certain ions into the flow stream. it also relates to a device for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 5339704
Abstract: In a screw lift the lift cage is carried by a drive nut rotatably provided on an essentially upright screw, the lift cage carrying a bearing means and a drive means for the nut. The screw is supported by several supporting braces attached thereto along the length thereof. The nut has the shape of a spiral having turns, the pitch and axial thickness of which are adapted to the distance between the braces and the dimensions of these in the length direction of the screw so as to enable the nut to pass freely past the braces by passing between the turns of the nut during the passage.

  • Patent number: 4941462
Abstract: The present invention relates to an orthosis consisting of a sleeve (1) of soft, elastic material, secured on each side of the joint. The orthosis comprises two detachably secured lateral stabilizing splints (8, 9) each of which consists of two arms (10, 11; 12, 13) connected by a pivot joint (14, 15). A Velcro strip is adhered to each arm (10, 11; 12, 13) and cooperates with a corresponding Velcro strip (16, 17) stitched onto the sleeve (1). In order to avoid material-bunching and the formation of folds on the flexing side of the orthosis, a section (18) without any material is provided in this region.
