Abstract: Hardware definition language source files for building a circuit model is loaded into computer memory. The hardware definition language source files are compiled into the circuit model. Responsive to the hardware definition language source file loading and compiling, files that define labels for circuit components of the circuit model are automatically loaded into the computer memory. The labels for circuit components are read from the files. The circuit components of the circuit model are marked with the labels that respectively correspond to the circuit components. Correctness of structural connections among the circuit components of the circuit model is checked by traversing the circuit model based on the marked circuit components and checking against preconfigured rules of connectivity among the circuit components.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, system and computer program product for providing a waveform trace of a last plurality of cycles of a simulation prior to occurrence of an error in the simulation. A computer implemented method in a data processing system for providing a waveform trace for a last plurality of cycles of a simulation prior to occurrence of an error in the simulation includes storing history information relating to a last plurality of cycles of a simulation during running of the simulation. Responsive to an error occurring in the simulation, the simulation is stopped, and a waveform trace for the last plurality of cycles of the simulation is provided using the stored history information.
