  • Publication number: 20020167824
Abstract: The invention relates to a power supply unit for direct current to direct current DC-DC conversion having multiple outputs. Such power converters comprise a DC-AC converter 100, a transformer 200 and a plurality of AC-DC converters 300-i i=1 . . . n each for generating an individual DC-output voltage Vi being provided to a respective load impedance 330-i. Lossy components in said transformer and said AC-DC converters cause undesired voltage drops causing undesired fluctuations of the DC-output voltages. A reduction of said fluctuations of said DC-output voltages is achieved by feeding-back the DC-output voltage of at least one AC-DC converter to said DC-AC converter. Starting from that prior art it is the object of the invention to improve a power supply unit for DC-DC conversion such that a more uniform sharing of the fluctuations of the output voltages is achieved easily and cheaply.

  • Publication number: 20020126515
Abstract: The invention relates to a converter for converting a DC voltage UBat into an output direct voltage Uout, in particular in TV or computer screens. The converter comprises a full-bridge circuit 7 for chopping the DC voltage UBar into an AC voltage U˜ on its output and a switching circuit 3 for converting the AC voltage U˜ into the output direct voltage Uout of the converter. The converter further comprises a control circuit 5 for generating control signals to drive controllable switching elements S1 . . . S4 in the full-bridge circuit. The problem for the invention is to further develop such a converter so that the output voltage Uout generated by it remains stable even during a switching of the full-bridge circuit between two operating modes. This problem is solved by the invention in that the control circuit 5 only carries out this switching during a dead time interval ttot, during which at least one of the switching elements S1 . . . S4 is switched off.
