  • Patent number: 11801675
Abstract: A controller may detect an elevation of a recording medium that is to be printed to, the elevation may result in the printing element of a printing device being negatively affected. The controller may automatically produce a time-limited printing pause of the printing element in which the printing gap between the printing element and the recording medium is temporarily enlarged in order to direct the detected elevation past the printing element. A negative effect on the printing device given the presence of a damaged recording medium may thus be efficiently and reliably avoided or reduced.

    Filed: January 28, 2022
Date of Patent: October 31, 2023
Assignee: Canon Production Printing Holding B.V.
Inventors: Bernd Hausmann, Hubert Drexler, Bernhard Holzner, Stephan Pilsl, Ulrich Bäumler, Lucian Petrut, Christian Wallis

  • Patent number: 8705136
Abstract: In a method or system for trapping print data with a plurality of respective objects, the objects being individually transferred into a bit map pixel file, at least one overfill is determined for the respective object relative to color regions bordering the respective object in the pixel file according to predetermined trapping rules. The object and the at least one overfill are inserted into the pixel file, wherein the object and the overfill are rastered in the pixel file upon insertion.

  • Patent number: 7986437
Abstract: In a method, program, or device to generate or process a document data stream that comprises data relating to color management resources wherein processing of color-related data of the document data stream can be controlled, associating at least one indexed color management resource with the document data stream wherein with the management resource color-related data of the document data stream can be associated with multiple predetermined color palettes. Within a color palette, an index value is respectively associated with multiple color. Respective values regarding the index colors are stored in the color management resource. The values are associated with corresponding proportions of color tones to reproduce the respective indexed color. The color palettes are compared between the system that generates the document data and an output system that outputs the document data, the document data stream is structured.

  • Patent number: 7260334
Abstract: A method and device controls a printer or copier to generate a plurality of marks that are assembled into a coherent marking band that is then inked by the toner. A sensor measures the marking band. The printer or copier are controlled based on the output of the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20050206954
Abstract: In a method for printing a file on sheets with register pages inserted between them, the file containing register page file parameters describing the register pages, register page print parameters that describe a stack of register pages at an input. In the event that, upon printing of the file, it is established using the register page file parameters that a register page is to be processed, the register page file parameters describing the register page to be printed are compared with the register page print parameters in order to establish whether the next register page to be drawn from the input stack coincides with the register page to be processed. In the event that this is not the case, drawing at least one or more register pages from the input stack and supplying one or more of them to an output until a register page coinciding with the register page to be printed is drawn from the input stack, and then processing and supplying that register page to the output.

  • Patent number: 6501929
Abstract: A printing system for printing on recording media first by a first printer and then by a second printer provides that print data is supplied in a page by page manner to the first and second printers from a print data source. Page information is sent to the printers using the print data and corresponding page information is sent to a buffer storage by the first printer. The page information in the buffer storage and the page information sent to the second printer are verified in a page by page manner by determining adherence to a predetermined rule. A synchronization mark is generated on the recording media by the first printer and is read by the second printer, which is used to control the printing process.

  • Patent number: 5883722
Abstract: A controller for an electrographic printer or copier for editing encoded image data by bundling the image data into work packets which are then processed independently of one another. A plurality of raster modules handle individual work packets independently of one another. The raster modules access a resources memory which contains information on fonts and images, for example. A central resources memory unit administers the process.
