Abstract: Compounds of the invention are obtained by oxyalkylating natural rosin acids, disproportionated rosin acids or rosin acids modified with aromatic hydroxy compounds or with cycloalkyl and especially aralkyl and aryl compounds capable of splitting off halogen, and the esterification products thereof with polyols, and furthermore by oxalkylating rosin alcohols, rosin maleinates and/or mixtures of the above-mentioned rosin substances with ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide; reacting the alkylene oxide addition products thus obtained with maleic acid anhydride; and then adding alkali metal sulfite or alkaline earth metal sulfites or hydrogen sulfites to the maleic acid semiesters. These compounds are useful as interface-active agents, especially as dispersing agents for the fine division and stabilization of solids, and as wetting, emulsifying, levelling and dyeing auxiliaries.

Abstract: Polyglycol esters which can be obtained by partially esterifying an oxalkylate of 1,1,1-trimethylolethane or pentaerythritol with a mixture of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in the molar ratio of from 2:1 to 4:1 with sub-stoichiometrical amounts of a carboxylic acid having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms or an acylating derivative of such a carboxylic acid may be used as surface-active agents. The polyglycol esters increase and/or stabilize the viscosity of aqueous systems and are also suitable as emulsifying agents.

Abstract: Process for improving the sliding properties of linear polyester material in spinning operations, which comprises treating this material after the drawing with a mixture of the following components:(a) 50 to 90% by weight of a condensation product of formula I ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is C.sub.10 -C.sub.22 alkyl or alkenyl, y is a number of from 20 to 40, and x plus z have a weight of less than 20% by weight of the polypropylene oxide portion, and(b) 50 to 10% by weight of a compound of formulae II and/or III ##STR2## in which R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 alkyl or alkenyl, and x and/or y are numbers of from 5 to 20.

Abstract: Fabric softening compositions in the form of liquid, aqueous dispersions, containing a condensation product of 1 to 1.5 mols of fatty acid or of a fatty acid ester of the formula Ir--co.sub.2 x (i)in which R is an aliphatic radical having about 11 to 21 carbon atoms and X is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and 1 mol of an alkylpropylenediaminoxalkylate of the formula II ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is an aliphatic radical having 12 to 22 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl and x, y and z are 0 or 1, the sum of x, y and z being 1 to 2; and a cationic disinfectant. In addition to their softening properties and on account of their content of quaternary ammonium compounds having disinfecting properties, the fabric softeners of the invention have antimicrobial action.

Abstract: A process for the conditioning of synthetic fibers, which comprises applying onto these fibers mixtures of alkane-phosphonic acid salts and alkane-phosphonic acid-semi-ester salts in a molar ratio of from 19:1 to 5:1.

Abstract: A process for the manufacture of synthetic staple fibers having a marked separating capability by preparing the synthetic fibers with fatty acid-amine-condensation products, which comprises preparing or conditioning the fibers, prior to the textile spinning processes, with fatty acid-hydroxy-alkyl-ethylene-diamine condensation products, the hydroxyalkyl radical or which shows 2 or 3 carbon atoms, and 1 to 2 identical or different radicals of saturated fatty acids having from 14 to 18 carbon atoms are present per mole of hydroxy-alkyl-ethylene-diamine.

Abstract: A fabric softener which contains as fabric-softening agent from 1 to 35% by weight of a condensation product obtained from about 1 to 1.5 moles of a fatty acid or a fatty acid ester of the formula Ir--co.sub.2 x (i),in which R represent an aliphatic radical having from about 11 to 21 carbon atoms, and X stands for hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, with 1 mole of an alkyl-propylene-diaminoxalkylate of the formula II ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic radical having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 stands for hydrogen or methyl, and x, y and z stand for 0 or 1, the sum of x, y and z being from 1 to 2.

Abstract: Peralkylated reaction products of .alpha.-olefin oxides of 8 to 18 carbon atoms with lower alkylene-diamines, dialkylene-triamines or trialkylene-tetramines are fiber lubricants which are capable of rendering the fibers antistatic.

Abstract: Peralkylated propylenediamines having one long-chain alkyl or alkenyl group are antistatic agents for fibers.
