  • Publication number: 20040255700
Abstract: A device for determining the weight of vehicle occupants or objects on vehicle seats is proposed, which has two elements interconnected via a spring arrangement. A position sensor is also provided to determine the position of the first element in relation to the second element. The first element can tilt about a fulcrum. The position sensor is arranged in relation to the longitudinal extension of the second element in a position which is predefined by a perpendicular projection of the fulcrum onto this second element.

  • Publication number: 20040154843
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for receiving a force applied to a seat, particularly a vehicle seat. Said device comprises at least one spring element (5) for elastically positioning the seat in such a way that the seat support components (1,2,3,4) are coupled together by means of the spring element (5). The inventive device also comprises a sensor which detects the spring excursion or an alteration of the spring excursion or a position of the spring element.

  • Patent number: 6471304
Abstract: A brake value signal transmitter that is to be connected to a brake pedal of a motor vehicle senses activations of the brake pedal with a plurality of sensors and converts them into electrical signals. The brake pedal is connected via a rotatably mounted pressure rod to a piston that can be displaced in the interior of a cylinder. A pressure space that is filled with a gas, has a variable volume, and can be filled at least partially with hydraulic oil is provided in the cylinder. The gas is compressed by the piston when the brake pedal is activated, and in the process increases a reaction force acting on the brake pedal.

  • Patent number: 6213567
Abstract: The brake system includes a pedal unit through which operations of the brake pedal of the motor vehicle are detected with one or more sensors and desired values of the brake application force are generated according the driver requirement. The system also includes electrically actuated brake actuators at the wheels of the motor vehicle. An electronic central controller evaluates the sensor signals and generates control signals for additional brake functions. Data blocks are exchanged in a predefined cyclically repeating time pattern over a data bus connecting the pedal unit, the brake actuators, and the central controller. Over an additional signal line connecting together the pedal unit, the brake actuators and the central controller, the desired value for the brake application force is transmitted from the pedal unit to the brake actuators and the central controller and data are exchanged concerning the status of the connected devices.

  • Patent number: 6059379
Abstract: The brake system of a motor vehicle has a wheel-brake actuator for each wheel brake. The wheel-brake actuator, which is controlled by the brake pedal via electric lines, presses the brake linings against the brake disk. A force sensor senses the circumferential force produced by the brake torque. The output signal of the sensor is taken into account as the current value by the control of the wheel-brake actuator when setting the contact force between the brake linings and the brake disk.
