  • Patent number: 11683649
Abstract: A system, method and computer program are configured to interactively assist a user in evaluating and/or configuring a hearing aid. The system is equipped with a display element, with an input unit and with a processing unit. The environmental situations are shown on the display element. Based on a user input, a selected section of the environmental situation is determined and highlighted. A specific hearing situation is presented on the basis of the selection made by the user. An evaluation scale is displayed, allowing the user to enter a hearing value for a self-assessment of his hearing ability for the specific hearing situation, and the hearing value entered by the user is recorded. The above steps are repeated and hearing values are recorded for different specific hearing situations. Based on the hearing values entered by the user, setting values for the hearing aid are determined.

  • Patent number: 11388528
Abstract: A method operates a hearing system which has a hearing instrument worn in an ear. The method includes capturing a sound signal from an environment, processing the captured sound signal in dependence of a set of signal processing parameters, and outputting a processed sound signal to the user. The method further includes analyzing the captured sound signal to recognize own-voice intervals, in which the user speaks, analyzing the captured sound signal for an acoustic feature of the own voice of the user and/or analyzing a signal of a bio sensor. The bio sensor measures at least one non-acoustic vital function of the user and determines, from the acoustic feature and/or the non-acoustic vital function of the user, a measure of an emotional state of the user. A value of a signal processing parameter is adapted, within the own-voice intervals, to change the emotional state if a criterion is fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20220036532
Abstract: A fault recognition in a hearing aid of a user includes providing an actual image of a component of the hearing aid and comparing the actual image with reference images. An analysis unit carries out an image comparison, in which the actual image is compared to one or a plurality of reference images, which each show the component in a state, of which it is previously known whether the component is faulty or faultless. The analysis unit determines as a state of the component of the actual image that state which is assigned to the reference image which is most similar to the actual image. This recognizes whether the component is faulty or faultless. A system has an analysis unit that is configured to carry out the method.

  • Publication number: 20210177309
Abstract: To determine an auditory threshold of a test subject, according to the method, multiple tone sets, which predominantly contain a plurality of noises, having properties remaining uniform within a tone set, are presented in succession to a test subject by use of an output transducer. The test subject is asked to indicate a perceived number of noises from the presented tone set after each presentation of one of these tone sets. As a function of the perceived number of noises, a property of at least one part of the noises is changed in relation to the preceding tone set for the presentation of a following tone set and the following tone set is presented to the test subject. As a function of the respective perceived number of noises in the presented tone sets, at least one value of the auditory threshold of the test subject is estimated.

  • Publication number: 20200107139
Abstract: A hearing system has a hearing instrument that may be worn in or on a user's ear, and a peripheral device or a control program that may run on a data processing device. A microphone signal detected by the hearing instrument is examined for the user's own-voice components and is processed by a signal processor of the hearing instrument as a function of predetermined signal processing parameters. When own-voice components are detected, a first parameter set of the signal processing parameters is applied; when own-voice components are not detected, a second parameter set of the signal processing parameters is applied. The first parameter set may be modified by the user via the peripheral device or the control program in order to adapt the own-voice components contained in the microphone signal to a user-desired perception of the user's own voice.

  • Publication number: 20160381468
Abstract: A method for compressing the dynamics in an audio signal includes measuring at least one input level of the audio signal and comparing the measured input level with a limit value. A prescribed compression characteristic having a knee defined by a base value of the input level is adjusted to suit the audio signal by raising the knee from the base value to a higher target value if the at least one input level exceeds the limit value. The audio signal is compressed in accordance with the adjusted compression characteristic. A signal processing unit includes a signal input for feeding in an audio signal and is configured to perform the method, and a hearing device includes at least one microphone for obtaining an audio signal from an ambient sound and the signal processing unit connected to the microphone.

  • Publication number: 20150172829
Abstract: A method is shown which recognizes whether a hearing device system or a hearing device component is fitted correctly in an ear. To this end an acoustic test signal is output by an output device and is received again by a recording device. The test signal received back is compared to the permanently preset reference values of reference criteria in order thereby to obtain a status signal. The status signal contains information about the fit. In other words, it is possible to establish by the status signal whether the hearing device system is correctly fitted. Furthermore a hearing device system is shown which is suitable for performing the method.
