  • Patent number: 8727614
Abstract: A method for monitoring a status of a sleeve for lining a system of pipes or conduits, the sleeve being impregnated with a curable resin, includes the steps of providing the sleeve, disposing at least one fiber optic sensor in thermally conductive contact with the sleeve, and generating, using the at least one fiber optic sensor, a positionally resolved thermographic image representative of a temperature of the sleeve as a function of position and time.

  • Publication number: 20130089287
Abstract: The invention relates to an optical sensor cable provided in the form of a ribbon cable (1) and to the use of the optical sensor cable for the measurement of light in the UV range and to the use thereof in technical irradiation procedures using UV light. The optical sensor cable provided in the form of a ribbon cable (1) comprises a profiled body (2) having a flat cross-section. Said profiled body has at least one highly transparent sub-region (6) extending centrally and parallel to the axis of the sensor cable. An optical waveguide (8) that can be used for optical measurement methods in the UV wavelength range is embedded in the transparent sub-region (6). The highly transparent sub-region (6) is designed to be optically accessible on a flat face of the profiled body (2). The use of an optical measurement method is directed, for example, at a UV light measurement and/or a temperature measurement during installation and during the curing process in a relining tube (20).

  • Patent number: 7742892
Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a method of calibrating an optical FMCW backscattering measurement system that improves the precision of the measurement. The problem is solved by a method comprising the steps of A. Converting said received sensor signal to a complex received electrical signal as a function of said modulation frequency fm, said complex received electrical signal being represented by a magnitude part and a phase angle part as a function of said modulation frequency fm; B. Performing a transformation of said received electrical signal to provide a backscattering signal as a function of location between said first and second ends of said sensor and beyond said second end; C. From said backscattering signal as a function of location determining characteristics of a curve representative of said backscattering signal beyond said second end; D.
