  • Publication number: 20090091285
Abstract: In normal mode, a central unit of an electronic control device receives desired and actual values for determining desired current values which are transmitted to an electronic drive unit. The central unit of the electronic drive unit receives the desired current values for determining drive signals for circuit breakers. In monitoring mode, the central unit of the electronic control device checks whether an connected electric motor is in a safe state. If not, the control device transmits disconnection signals to a disconnection device and to the drive unit. The central unit of the electronic control device generates checking information for the drive unit. In the monitoring mode, the central unit of the drive unit checks whether a disconnection signal is transmitted to the central unit and whether the checking information is correct.

  • Patent number: 7482771
Abstract: In a method for monitoring a stationary condition of a drive device, a monitoring device provides the drive device with a temporally varying monitoring signal which, when a sensor device connected to the drive device functions properly, modulates a sensor output signal of the sensor device in accordance with the monitoring input signal. The monitoring device receives the sensor signal and monitors it for the presence of a corresponding signal component. In the absence of such a signal component, the monitoring device controls a safety device which converts the drive device into a safe state. When the drive device is controlled by means of at least two phase-shifted current regulators, it is possible for the monitoring device to monitor an output signal of at least one of the current regulators for constancy and to control the safety device when the output signal of the at least one current regulator changes.

  • Publication number: 20080190166
Abstract: In one aspect a device to simplify, and to reduce the costs of, the error-protected detection of the measured values in the control unit, without reducing the error protection of the system is provided. The device includes a pick-up device for detecting measuring signals. Independently operating evaluation devices are provided for the redundant determination of measured values from the measuring signals of the pick-up device. The data is transmitted to the control unit by means of error-protected transmission devices. A first evaluation device is used to determine a measured value, and a second evaluation device is used to determine a less precise, coarse comparison value. The device is also used to establish the accuracy of the measured value by comparing the value with the comparison value.

  • Patent number: 7272152
Abstract: For real-time communication between a number of network subscribers in a communication system using Ethernet physics, the slave units are synchronized to the master unit in that each slave unit is clocked via a respective timer with a predetermined overall cycle time, which timer is set cyclically by the reception of respective slave-specific synchronization information which is determined by the master unit. In this case, each timer in a slave unit automatically starts a new cycle once the predetermined overall cycle time has elapsed, even in the absence of the respective synchronization information. Access control for the transmission mode and reception mode between the network subscribers is provided using a timeslot access method.
