  • Patent number: 6230493
Abstract: A steam power station includes a power house, an annex, a turbogroup disposed in the power house, and a condenser having a condenser neck connected to the turbogroup, and main cooling-water lines including at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the condenser disposed lateral to the turbogroup and the condenser, the at least one inlet, and the at least one outlet disposed in the annex. A conventional power house places a condenser, a condenser neck, and main cooling-water lines inside a power house. Accordingly, such a power house must be larger with respect to both height and width. To reduce the overall volume of the power house, the condenser of the invention is laterally disposed next to the turbogroup within an annex. The turbogroup has a turbine center line, the condenser has a center line located below the turbine center line, and the condenser neck has a gradient towards the condenser. The gradient can be predetermined.

  • Patent number: 5029443
Abstract: A method and device for generating steam and electric power for the start-up and/or auxiliary operation of a steam power station include at least one start-up gas turbine, a generator driven by the start-up gas turbine for generating power, and a start-up or auxiliary steam generator being fed by condensate from a main circuit of the steam power station. The exhaust or exit gas from the start-up gas turbine is fed to the start-up or auxiliary steam generator and heating of the start-up or auxiliary steam generator is effected by waste heat in the exhaust or exit gas stream from the start-up gas turbine.

  • Patent number: 4851084
Abstract: In a pyrolysis plant having a preliminary cooling stage and a final cooling stage, in the event of an operational malfunction of the preliminary cooling stage as indicated by temperature measurement of the pyrolysis gas cooled therein, the pyrolysis gas is withdrawn upstream of the final cooling stage and previously stored, cold pyrolysis gas is drawn from a gas reservoir and fed to the pyrolysis reactor and to the final cooling stage so that these parts of the plant can remain in unaltered operation. As a result of this procedure, a shutdown of the entire plant is avoided in the event of malfunctions of the preliminary cooling stage.

  • Patent number: 4607570
Abstract: A compression extractor is disclosed. The compression extractor comprises a tank having a flexible membrane mounted therein. The membrane serves to divide the tank into a mash chamber and a pressure chamber. The mash chamber is adapted to receive a fruit mash or other liquid containing material from which liquid is to be extracted. When a pressure medium is introduced into the pressure chamber, the membrane presses on the mash in the mash chamber to extract the liquid therefrom. A liquid collection system is provided to collect the extracted liquid. To improve collection of the extracted liquid, the side of membrane facing the mash chamber is covered at least in part, with drainage canals or the like to direct liquid located near the membrane to the liquid collection system.

  • Patent number: 4292793
Abstract: A hay harvesting machine containing a rake wheel whose housing is formed by an upper housing portion non-rotatably connected with a vertical upright shaft and a lower housing portion rotatably mounted upon such upright vertical shaft. The lower housing portion is revolvingly driven by means of a gear drive, such as bevel gearing. In the lower housing portion, there are mounted tine supports pivotable about their lengthwise axis. These tine supports extend in tangential direction and, viewed in the direction of revolving motion, extend rearwardly. Each tine support is provided with a control arm carrying a control head or follower guided in a downwardly open control track or cam, having an essentially U-shaped cross-sectional configuration. This control track is located in a plane extending essentially perpendicular to the upright or vertical shaft.

  • Patent number: 4274248
Abstract: A hay harvesting machine contains a rake wheel whose housing is formed by an upper housing portion non-rotatably connected with a vertical upright shaft and a lower driven housing portion rotatably mounted at such upright shaft. In bearing bushings rotatably mounted at the lower housing portion there are retained tine supports provided with raking tines or prongs. These tine supports extend in an essentially horizontal plane and, by rotating the bearing portions, can be selectively shifted from a first operating position into a second operating position. In the first operating position the tine supports extend approximately in tangential direction and in the second operation position they protrude essentially in radial direction from the upright shaft. Each tine support is connected with a control lever engaging, by means of a control head or follower, into a control track or cam. This control track is located in a plane extending essentially perpendicular to the upright shaft, i.e. horizontally.

  • Patent number: 4274249
Abstract: A hay harvesting machine containing a rake wheel having a housing formed by an upper housing portion connected non-rotatably with a vertical upright shaft and a lower housing portion rotatably mounted at the upright shaft. The lower housing portion is revolvingly driven by means of a gear drive, typically bevel gearing. In the lower housing portion there are mounted tine supports so as to be pivotal about their lengthwise axis, these tine supports additionally being pivoted about a pivot shaft or axis extending transversely with respect to their lengthwise axis. This pivot axis is located in a plane which is approximately perpendicular to the upright shaft. The tine supports extend in tangential direction and, viewed in the direction of revolving motion thereof, extend rearwardly. For swath formation the tine supports are retained in a pivotal position where they are guided by means of a control head or follower in a control track or cam at the upper housing portion.

  • Patent number: 4083665
Abstract: An apparatus for the manufacture of a foamed molded article or part from pre-expanded polystyrene comprising a hollow mold compartment which communicates with a vapor chamber or compartment at least at the region of one of its walls by means of passageways or openings provided therein. Each passageway or opening is controlled by a valve arrangement responsive to the vapor temperature and which closes such passageway when the vapor temperature exceeds a temperature range contemplated for a limited foaming.

  • Patent number: 3976415
Abstract: An injection moulding machine used in conjunction with a closed split mould, has its shot volume controlled by a device which responds to widening of the mould parting line occurring when the mould is completely filled with moulding material as a result of the pressure build up which occurs inside the mould. Contactless sensing of widening of the parting line is described, by means of electromagnetic sensing devices. The shot volume can thus be held at the optimum value at which minimum flash occurs and complete filling of the mould is assured.
