  • Patent number: 9416781
Abstract: A gear pump includes a plurality of gear wheels rotatably retained in a pump housing and that engage in one another for the conveyance of a medium. One of the gear wheels is driven by a pump shaft, which can be coupled to a drive by means of a coupling end. To maintain a uniform conveyance flow, in particular with strongly fluctuating operational pressures, during alternating load states, within a single rotation, a brake ring is disposed on the circumference of the pump shaft, which acts with at least one brake surface on a friction surface of the pump shaft or on a friction surface of the pump housing.

  • Patent number: 9289732
Abstract: A dynamic mixer for mixing flowable media, which has a mixing chamber in a multipart housing is described. A plurality of inlets and an outlet of the mixing chamber are arranged on the housing, and a mixing shaft having a mixer section projects into the mixing chamber. The mixing shaft is mounted in a sliding bearing in the housing by means of a bearing section and passes through the housing with a drive section for coupling to a drive. To avoid dead spaces within the housing, the housing has a sealing hole for accommodating the drive section of the mixing shaft and a bearing hole for mounting the bearing section of the mixing shaft, where the sealing hole has a greater diameter than the bearing hole in order to accommodate a sealing means.

  • Patent number: 9004890
Abstract: The invention relates to a gear wheel pump with two meshing gear wheels which are rotatably mounted within a pump housing by means of a driven driveshaft and a crankshaft journal and which form a pumping channel system between a pump inlet and a pump outlet. Several gaps are formed between the pump housing, the gear wheels, the driveshaft, and the crankshaft journal. One of the gaps between the driveshaft and one of the gear wheels contains means for the rotationally fixed connection of the driveshaft to the gear wheel. In order to prevent leakages penetrating to the connecting means, according to the invention the gap between the driveshaft and the gear wheel is sealed, with respect to the front faces of the gear wheel, by means of a sealant.

  • Publication number: 20130315029
Abstract: A device and method for metering and/or feeding in liquid colorants and/or functional additives, in particular odorants is described. The device includes a plurality of tanks, a plurality of primary pumps each of which are associated with respective tanks and a colorant mixing device. The colorant mixing device has a plurality of valves with valve inlets and valve outlets, a collecting chamber in a collecting block which is connected to the valve outlets via very small volumes on its inlet side. A mixer is connected to the collecting chamber and a dispensing line is connected to the mixer. The primary pumps are connected in each case to a valve inlet. The through flow volume of the very small volumes is in each case at most 10 cm3, preferably considerably smaller. A further pump for feeding in liquid colorants or additives into a polymer melt can be dispensed with.

  • Publication number: 20100196186
Abstract: The invention relates to a gear pump having two meshing gear wheels configured of a driven gear wheel and a gear wheel moving along with the same. A rotatably supported drive shaft is provided for driving the gear wheel, the shaft being held in the pump housing by bearing means. A sealing means is associated with the drive shaft at the circumference between the gear wheel and the bearing means, the sealing means comprising a pressure ring resting against a face of the gear wheel. In order to prevent the gear wheel in the pump housing from starting to run, a second sealing means having a second pressure ring is disposed on the opposite face of the gear wheel at the circumference of the drive shaft between a second bearing means and the gear wheel, wherein both pressure rings have a sealing shoulder opposite the gear wheel, the shoulder being pressed against the face of the gear wheel under the action of a spring means.

  • Patent number: 7278776
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for injecting a liquid dye into a polymer melt, which includes a metering pump with a metering inlet and a metering outlet. The metering inlet connects to a dye tank and the metering outlet connects to a polymer melt carrying component. To add the liquid dye to the polymer melt in the melt carrying component in a quantity that is as uniform and accurate as possible, the invention provides for connecting the metering inlet of the metering pump to a feed outlet of a feed pump, which connects with its feed inlet to the tank. With that, it is possible to generate a feed pressure at the metering inlet of the metering pump, which can be adapted to an injection pressure at the metering outlet of the metering pump.

  • Patent number: 6315537
Abstract: The invention relates to a spin pump for conveying a liquid polymer melt. To drive the conveying means enclosed in the pump housing, a drive shaft is provided, which extends through the pump housing in a bearing bore, and which comprises an external end for connecting to a drive. To seal the outward extending drive shaft, a cooling sleeve is employed which connects in a pressure tight fashion to the pump housing. The cooling sleeve surrounds the drive shaft with a narrow gap therebetween, and the outer surface of the cooling sleeve is cooled by a coolant for increasing the viscosity of the polymer melt which enters the gap between the drive shaft and the cooling sleeve. With an increased viscosity, the melt acts to seal the gap without interfering with the rotation of the drive shaft.
