  • Patent number: 4840550
Abstract: In a rotary piston engine which can be produced by simple manufacturing techniques and which has an outer and an inner rotor which rotate in a housing about different axes of rotation, wherein strip-like projections on inwardly extending engagement members generate the contour of the piston of the inner rotor, whereby a well-defined contact seal can be realized in use, the projections have two sealing corners adjacent to but spaced from one another in the direction of rotation of the outer rotor.

  • Patent number: 4822260
Abstract: A device for controlling a rotating-piston machine in which inner and outer rotors rotate at unequal speeds and profiled teeth thereon form gaps to define working chambers which move, with change of volume, from an inlet region to an outlet region of the machine. The device comprises a body having a feed channel for a working fluid, a plurality of supply channels which open into the inlet region and two rotary slide valves for controlling communication between the feed channel and the supply channels to fill the working chambers during development of suction therein upon rotation of the rotors. The body has two round cutouts each containing a respective rotary slide valve. One slide valve controls supply of fluid at the beginning of development of suction in each working chamber whereas the other slide valve controls supply fluid at the end of development of suction in each working chamber. Each cut-out is connected to the feed channel and to respective associated pluralities of supply channels.

  • Patent number: 4794904
Abstract: An internal combustion engine is provided with a volume-displacement supercharger. The supercharger has an interior with an inlet or suction side and an outlet side. An injection nozzle is located within a passage located directly in the supercharger and directs fuel into the supercharger interior at the suction end of the interior.

  • Patent number: 4667948
Abstract: Offset printing plates are usually supplied from the manufacturer as a plate stack with intermediate paper layers. For further processing, the plate stack is placed in a magazine cassette. A suction plate lifts a top plate off from the stack and, after removal of the intermediate paper layer by means of blowing air, conducts it for further processing. Also by means of blowing air, the respective upper plates of the remaining stack are isolated, so that they no longer firmly adhere to the stack. Undesired dislocations of the plates thus arising are mechanically corrected.

  • Patent number: 4318070
Abstract: An actuator for use as part of an electrically heated thermal delay valve (FIG. 1) or switch (FIG. 2) includes a thermally responsive plate (12) the periphery of which is fixed and the central part of which forms a temperature-dependent control element. The actuator also includes a metal carrier plate (9) which has a PTC element (10) mounted on it and which is free to move in a direction normal to its surface between stop abutments, and at least one spring (11) which electrically contacts the PTC element (10) and biases the carrier plate (9) towards the thermally responsive plate (9) to ensure that it is constantly in thermal contact with the carrier plate (10). This ensures that a direct thermal contact between the PTC element and the thermally responsive plate is constantly maintained which results in consistently reproducible functions being achieved with the apparatus by virtue of this direct thermal contact. The thermally responsive plate (9) may be biased towards the carrier plate (10).

  • Patent number: 4282746
Abstract: An arrangement for indicating the on-going fuel consumption of an operating internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle having a multi-stage transmission. An engine operating parameter indicative of the quantity of fuel being supplied to the engine per engine revolution, is sensed or detected, and a signal representative of the sensed parameter is transmitted to an indicating instrument. The signal is modulated, furthermore, as a function of the currently engaged stage of the transmission. The modulating action may be carried out by a pressure transducer and the signal may be transmitted through a passage connecting the output of the transducer with the indicating instrument. The sensing procedure may be carried out through another passage connecting an input of the transducer with the intake manifold of the engine downstream of the throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 4246880
Abstract: An arrangement for heating the intake pipe of a spark-ignited internal combustion engine with electrical heating elements having a positive temperature coefficient. These heating elements are located on a heating plate which forms part of the intake pipe wall, and are held by a carrier member, rigidly fastened to these elements. This carrier member has several elastic plates, one for each heating element, connected to one central current contact surface. The carrier member is centered in the heating plate and is loaded by a compression spring which is centered in the cover of the housing of the arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4236376
Abstract: An arrangement for regulating supercharger air pressure in a combustion engine operated with exhaust gas supercharge which equipped with an exhaust gas turbosupercharger, consisting of a supercharger and an exhaust gas turbine. The regulating device is a valve controlling an exhaust gas bypass to the exhaust gas turbine. The valve has a pressure unit divided by a diaphragm into two chambers. One side of the diaphragm is charged with supercharger air pressure, and the other side is loaded by a spring. The two chambers are connected by a calibrated opening in the diaphragm. Another valve connects the chamber holding the spring to the atmosphere and has the form of a nonreturn ball valve. The preloading of the spring of the nonreturn ball valve may be adjustable.
