  • Patent number: 5283024
Abstract: A method for the production of granular sodium perborate tetrahydrate is disclosed herein. The method includes the steps of adding 0.3-5% by weight of a sodium salt or a potassium salt of a polymeric carboxylic acid to powdered perborate tetrahydrate, softening the mixture by heating under pressure to form a plastically deformable mass, deforming the plastically deformable mass into thin strands by pressing, and comminuting the strands into granular form. The perborate tetrahydrate may be de-watered to produce granular perborate monohydrate. The final granular products exhibit high abrasion resistance and are preferably used in washing and cleaning agents.

  • Patent number: 5149455
Abstract: The density of a spray-dried, phosphate-reduced detergent powder containingA) 4 to 20% by weight of at least one anionic surfactant,B) 2 to 20% by weight of at least one nonionic surfactant,C) 20 to 50% by weight of at least one builder,D) 3 to 25% by weight washing alkalis,E) 0 to 30% by weight of other detergent constituentswhich lend themselves to hot spray drying is increased by continuously introducing a detergent powder having up to 50% of the final amount of nonionic surfactant into a cylindrical, horizontally arranged mixing drum in which a shaft is mounted for axial rotation. The shaft is equipped with radially arranged impact tools of defined length. The rotational speed of the shaft is regulated to provide a Froude index of from 50 to 1000.

  • Patent number: 5116524
Abstract: When used in a washing machine, a particulate detergent packed in portions in a flexible bag of a flat, water-permeable textile material leads to an improved detergency performance and/or saving of detergent by comparison with the conventional addition of detergent via the dispensing compartment of the washing machine if the bag material satisfies certain criteria in regard to the nature of the fibers used for its production and, optionally, the permeability to air and the adsorption capacity of the bag material, the geometric dimensions of the bag and its filling level.

  • Patent number: 5002695
Abstract: A foam regulator consisting essentially of a mixture, applied to a particulate support material, of (a) 5 to 60% of a paraffin wax, (b) 20 to 90% of a microcrystalline paraffin wax which shows defined melting behavior as a function of temperature and (c) 5% to 20% of a diamide derived from C.sub.2 -C.sub.7 diamines and C.sub.12 -C.sub.22 fatty acids which is present in the paraffin mixture in very finely divided form. The mixture is preferably prepared by reaction of the diamines with the fatty acids in a molten mixture of components (a) and (b) in the presence of an acidic catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4963158
Abstract: Soiled textile articles are washed by the addition of a determined amount of a detergent concentrate containing surfactants to the textile articles to be cleaned while the textiles are dry or only damp. The aqueous washing liquor is formed by the gradual addition of water to the textile articles while they are rotated. At room temperature, the detergent concentrate is to a substantial extent a paste-to dough-like substance, stable in form, and is applied to the textile articles in such an amount that the major portion of the surfactants together with further detergent constituents, if desired, are applied to the textiles or on an article of textile provided with markings for the correct detergent dose, as a dosing aid.
