  • Patent number: 5663438
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a phenyl amine which may be substituted by alkyl or cycloalkyl in which the corresponding cyolohexylamine is reduced at temperatures of 150.degree. to 300.degree. C. and pressures of 0.01 to 50 bar in the presence of a heterogeneous dehydrogenation catalyst consisting essentially of palladium or a palladium/platinum mixture supported on carrier consisting of the oxides of rare earth metals and and metals of Group IVb of the Periodic Table of Elements, with the proviso that the palladium/platinum mixture may also be supported on an alumina carrier. The cyclohexylamine reactant can be advantageously prepared by reacting the corresponding phenol with ammonia and hydrogen at 100.degree. to 250.degree. C. in the presence of the same heterogeneous catalyst as a preliminary step to provide a two stage process using the same catalyst in both stages.

  • Patent number: 4819840
Abstract: The invention relates to a refractory submerged pouring nozzle for the continuous casting of molten metals, especially molten steel, in a mould for thin slabs. The submerged pouring nozzle 2 is covered by a bottom plate 13 on its lower end face and has two opposing outflow orifices 11. While the edge of the bottom 13 forms a breakaway edge 11' for the molten metal, there adjoins the remaining edge of the especially archway-like outflow orifice 11 a roof-shaped guide element 15, the sideparts 15'0 of which have free edges 15" projecting from the outer edge of the upper part 15" of the guide element 15 and extending obliquely downwards to the lower breakaway edge 11'.

  • Patent number: 4321137
Abstract: An apparatus for processing liquids such as water or the like by means of a reverse osmosis device has a main pump which provides an entrance pressure to the reverse osmosis device in connection with a throttle. In order to avoid any losses of energy, another pump is connected to the main pump. Via a rigid shaft, a turbine is connected to the other pump which turbine receives the high pressure located in the concentrate and releases it to the other pump.

  • Patent number: 4196019
Abstract: Apparatus for washing soiled comminuted products, such as comminuted plastic foils, bands or the like comprises an elongated container adapted to be filled up to a predetermined level with a washing solution into which the products to be washed are fed at one end of the container and discharged from the other end, in which a separating wall extending transverse through the container between the ends thereof defines in the container a washing zone between the one end of the container and the separating wall and a discharge zone between the separating wall and the other end of the container, and in which an agitating device is provided in the washing zone for agitating the products therein and for driving the products below a lower edge of the separating wall from the washing zone to the discharge zone, from where the cleaned products are discharged by a discharging device including a sieve drum rotatable about an axis extending transverse to the longitudinal direction of the container.

  • Patent number: 4157754
Abstract: Compressed fibers, filaments or cabled tows, which are under an internal pressure of at least 0.2 daN/cm.sup.2 are packaged by means of an outer wrapping, and the overlapping areas of the wrapping are held together by means of an adhesive, for instance a neoprene-chloroprene-rubber based adhesive. In this manner, it is possible to eliminate straps, belts or wires which have been conventionally used to hold the package.
