Abstract: A lubricant oil composition comprising a diesel engine lubricating oil and, as antioxidant, a compound of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently of the other C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyland X is ##STR2## or --CH.sub.2 --S--R and R is a straight chain or branched alkyl radical of the formula --C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1, wherein n is an integer from 8 to 22.

Abstract: The compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.24 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 alkenyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted phenyl or phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, n is 1 or 2, and X is S or O, are highly suitable as additives, in particular as antiwear and high-pressure additives, and as corrosion inhibitors in functional fluids, for example in lubricants, fuels, hydraulic fluids, metal-working fluids and drilling fluids.

Abstract: New reaction products, useful as additives for functional fluids, are obtained by reacting, at elevated temperature,(A) a triazole having the formula IA or IB: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.7 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl residue;R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 are the same or different and each is C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 alkenyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.13 aralkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl or R.sub.8 and R.sub.9, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, form a 5-, 6- or 7-membered heterocyclic residue or R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 is each a residue of formula:R.sub.12 X[(alkylene)O].sub.n (alkylene)-- IIwherein X is O, S or N(R.sub.12), R.sub.12 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl, "alkylene" is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkylene residue and n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 6;R.sub.10 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl or C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 alkyl phenyl; and R.sub.11 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl or a residue --CH.sub.2 NR.sub.8 R.sub.

Abstract: Compositions, which are obtained by mixing and/or, optionally simultaneously, grinding a preferably liquid phosphate and a solid lubricant component, such as, graphite, are very suitable as additives for lubicants.

Abstract: Lubricant formulations containing a combination, which has a synergistic action in respect of metal deactivation, composed of 1-[di-(2-ethylhexyl)-aminomethyl]-benztriazole which is methylated in the benzene ring in the 4-position and/or 5-position, and an antioxidant selected from a small group of antioxidants. Further additives can be added to these lubricant formulations. The compositions mentioned above reduce the abrasion phenomena in the components to be lubricated if they are added to mineral and synthetic lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids and lubricating greases.

Abstract: A stabilizer system containing at least one compound of the formula I ##STR1## and one compound of the formula II ##STR2## the substituents R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R and R' having the meanings defined in the text, and x being 1 to 3. This stabilizer system is suitable for use as an additive to a polyalkylene glycol base liquid for preventing the formation of rust, especially on iron-containing surfaces, the use of these lubricant compositions being possible also in the high-temperature range.
