Publication number: 20090208723Abstract: An insert element comprising a carrier and an expandable material carried on the carrier, and a method for fitting said insert element into a conductive hollow body, the method comprising the following steps: the insert element is introduced into the hollow body; the insert element is positioned in the hollow body, the contact surface of the insert element coming into contact with the inner wall of the hollow body; a biasing current is applied between the insert element and the hollow body; the insert element and the hollow body are separated, forming an electric arc between the contact surface and the inner wall of the hollow body; a welding current is activated in order to form at least one melted mass on at least one side of the electric arc; the insert element and the hollow body are put together; and the insert element and the hollow body are connected by means of the melted mass located at least on one side.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2007Publication date: August 20, 2009Inventor: Ulrich Lindner

Patent number: 6857708Abstract: A wheel cover for a vehicle wheel has a holding device which is activated by a lateral pressing-on of the appropriately position wheel cover, to fix the wheel cover on the wheel body. The holding device is deactivated by another pressing-on of the wheel cover in the same direction, so that the wheel cover can then easily be removed from the wheel body. For this purpose, the holding device includes a connecting link path as well as a detent pin guided therein during the mounting of the wheel cover. During mounting of the wheel cover on the wheel body, the free end of the detent pin is guided in the connecting link path such that, a first pressing-on of the wheel cover causes it to arrive in a detent position in the connecting link path, while a second pressing-on changes it out of the detent position, into a connecting link path section by way of which the detent pin can be guided out of the connecting link path. The wheel cover can preferably be pressed onto the wheel body against a spring force.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2001Date of Patent: February 22, 2005Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AGInventors: Robert Hartl, Ulrich Lindner

Patent number: 6565790Abstract: An electrical-connector shell is made by first casting of a first plastic in a first mold a body having an inner wall extending parallel to an axis and having a radially outwardly directed surface, an outer wall extending parallel to the axis and having a radially inwardly directed surface confronting the radially outwardly directed surface and forming therewith an axially extending annular space, and an end wall closing an end of the space, joining ends of the inner and outer walls, and formed with an axially throughgoing hole opening adjacent one of the surfaces. Then this body is enclosed in a second mold formed with an annular cavity open radially toward the one surface and extending to the hole. A second plastic is then injected through the hole into the cavity to form on the one surface an annular seal ring.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Erich Wippermann GmbHInventors: Ulrich Lindner, Jürgen Oesterreich, Dieter Kaffenberger

Patent number: 4269091Abstract: A machine for automatically cutting and dividing of cylindrical sleeves guided and supported on a drawoff spindle by means of a plurality of coaxially arranged rotary knives. The machine includes a transport arrangement for transporting an uncut sleeve onto the drawoff spindle where it is cut by the rotary knives and then transporting the now-divided sleeve onto an adjustable carrier sled which is transversely movably mounted relative to the axis of the drawoff spindle. The transport arrangement includes a pair of end pressure members which are movable toward and away from each other and which are adapted to grip the cut and uncut sleeve therebetween. The carrier sled includes a pair of adjustable parallel sleeve-receiving troughs which are adapted to be reciprocally mounted between precisely-defined relative positions with respect to the carrier sled and a rotary knife-supporting beam.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1979Date of Patent: May 26, 1981Assignee: Christian Majer KG MaschinenfabrikInventors: Otto Hodapp, Ulrich Lindner
