  • Patent number: 5509263
Abstract: In a method and device for manufacturing a twisted yarn a spindle rotor having a hollow spindle axle with inlet and outlet and a yarn guide channel extending radially outwardly from the outlet is provided. The yarn exiting the yarn guide channel forms a yarn balloon. A stream of dissolved fiber material is fed axially through the spindle rotor into the space delimited by the yarn balloon and is divided into two partial streams. Each partial stream is guided first radially outwardly, then upwardly substantially parallel to the hollow spindle axle to a predetermined level, and subsequently radially inwardly to a respective spinning device arranged within the space delimited by the yarn balloon. A fiber is spun in each of the spinning devices, withdrawn, and guided axially downwardly. The fibers together are fed into the inlet of the hollow spindle axle to form a yarn. The yarn is guided through the hollow spindle axle and the yarn guide channel from where it exits and forms the yarn balloon.

  • Patent number: 5487263
Abstract: A device for adjusting capsule thread brakes in twisting machines having inside the twisting spindle a capsule thread brake has a brake ring disposed on a brake ring support which may be moved against a spring force. On the brake ring support a ring piston is arranged, which is guided in a ring cylinder connected to a compressed air supply line. A first toothed segment with downwardly directed teeth is arranged on the periphery of the brake ring support, and a second toothed segment with upwardly directed teeth is located opposite the first toothed segment. A support stop engages the slots formed between the teeth of the toothed segments during displacement of the brake ring support.

  • Patent number: 5479771
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for manufacturing a yarn from fiber material at least two spinning devices arranged adjacent to one another are provided. Fiber material is dissolved and fed to the at least two spinning devices. Each spinning device generates an individual spun fiber. The individual spun fibers are combined at the inlet opening of a hollow spindle axis to form a yarn. The yarn undergoes a two-for-one twisting operation by being passed in a first yarn feeding direction through the hollow spindle axis to an outlet opening of the hollow spindle axis, then radially guided from the outlet opening, and guided in a second yarn feeding direction counter to the first yarn feeding direction to form a yarn balloon rotating in a direction of rotation about the at least two spinning devices. A centering element is arranged on an axis extending along the hollow spindle axle so as to be spaced from the inlet opening of the hollow spindle axle.

  • Patent number: 5245818
Abstract: A method of cleaning a yarn supply package protective pot and, preferably, a balloon limiter device of a spindle assembly of a two-for-one twister yarn processing machine with a maintenance device mounted for movement longitudinally along the machine and to each of the spindle assemblies. The methods include moving a gripper device of a first cleaning device out of the maintenance device and into the protective pot of the selected spindle assembly for gripping and moving the protective pot out of the spindle assembly and into the maintenance device, while cleaning the protective pot in the maintenance device and then returning the protective pot to the spindle assembly. When the balloon limiter is also cleaned, a second cleaning device is moved out of the maintenance device and into the balloon limiter device of the spindle assembly while the protective pot has been removed and is being cleaned in the maintenance device.

  • Patent number: 5136836
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating apparatus for the automated refilling of a lubricating head with a wetting agent, which is inserted on a package adapter placed on the hollow shaft of a two-for-one twisting spindle. To this end, a maintenance automat traveling to the two-for-one twisting spindle to be serviced is provided, which comprises a gripper adapted to swing out of the maintenance automat and to move upward and downward, so as to remove the lubricating head from the region of the two-for-one twisting spindle and to connect same with a refilling station located in the maintenance automat.

  • Patent number: 4854116
Abstract: A spindle rotor is adapted (1) for use in a spindle of a textile thread processing machine, such as a two-for-one twister, in which the running thread being processed passes through an axially and radially extending thread passageway in the spindle and formed a rotating balloon around the spindle and includes means for supplying a flow of thread conditioning medium, fibrous material or other medium adapted to flow in a generally axial direction through the spindle and (2) to receive, guide and enhance the flow while performing the thread processing functions. The spindle rotor includes a hub member for rotatably mounting the spindle rotor in the machine spindle, a plurality of spaced-apart guide blades attached to the hub member and extending radially outwardly therefrom in a spoke-like manner for receiving the thread conditioning medium, and a radially extending thread passageway through the hub and one of the guide blades for receiving the running thread being processed.

  • Patent number: 4542618
Abstract: A pull-off aid of variable geometrical configuration for the overhead drawing-off of a thread (a,a') to be would onto a bobbin (1) from a feed or creel bobbin (11) mounted on a bobbin carrier, has an outer diameter which is variable by a control pulse which is dependent upon the increasing diameter of the bobbin (1) being wound and thereby upon the decreasing diameter of the feed or creel bobbin from which the thread is being drawn. To this end, a diameter sensor (2), by which the control pulse is initiated, responds when the bobbin being wound has reached a predetermined diameter.

  • Patent number: 4422597
Abstract: A carrier device for at least two twister or bobbin tubes (4, 17) disposed axially one above the other, comprising a substantially sleeve-shaped carrier member whose bottom end has a radially outwardly directed support surface (3) for supporting the lower tube (4). Disposed in the central region of the carrier member is a support surface (12) whose circumference is smaller than the inner circumference of the lower tube (4) to enable the latter tube (4) to be slipped onto the carrier body over the support surface 12. An annular or disc-shaped pull-off aid (13), which is preferably mounted so as to be freely rotatable, is slipped onto the support surface (12) and ensures that the threads from the tubes are not damaged when they are drawn off overhead, and that excessive stressing of the threads is avoided.
