    Abstract: Disclosed is a solventless process for the manufacture of sulfophenylalkylsiloxane or sulfonaphthylalkylsiloxanes, wherein the reaction between chlorosulfonic acid and a phenylalkyltrichlorosilane or a naphthylalkyltrichlorosilane is conducted in a reactor containing a self-cleaning agitator to deliver the sulfophenylalkylsiloxane or sulfonaphthylalkylsiloxane in the form of a powder.
