  • Patent number: 11906162
Abstract: A grate bar has a grate bar head, two side walls, a running surface behind the head and between the side walls and an underside disposed below the surface and between the side walls. A recess in one side wall forms an air slot between the surface and underside and is arranged only on one side wall, not in its opposite side wall. In a grate bar arrangement including multiple grate bars, each including a running surface and a grate bar head, in which an upper grate bar with grate bar head is moveably arranged relative to a lower grate bar so that the head may slide over front and rear grate bar running surface areas, the running surface has air slots in the front and rear areas and the head is displaceable relative to these slots so that the opening cross section of all slots remains constant.

  • Publication number: 20230366470
Abstract: An exemplary seal arrangement includes a labyrinth seal (1). The seal is in operative engagement with a shaft (2) that extends in an opening (3) in a wall (4) bounding a riddlings hopper (13). The exemplary shaft moves along at least one radial direction on an orbital or eccentric path within the wall opening so as to suitably cause movement of at least one grate step of a firing grate. First seal discs (5) extend radially relative to the shaft axis and are in fixed operative connection with the shaft. Second seal discs (6) also extend radially and are in fixed operative connection with a seal housing (8) that is attached to the wall. Throughout shaft movement within the opening, first seal discs continuously extend intermediate and in radially overlapping relation with second seal discs, and second seal discs continuously extend intermediate and in radially overlapping relation with first seal discs.

Abstract: An embodiment includes receiving an explanation request that includes an undesired output resulting from an input case of a hierarchical rule-based decision policy specified by an acyclic dependency graph, and further includes an alternative desired output from the hierarchical rule-based decision policy. The embodiment also includes computing a network of intermediate explanations for required ranges of respective decision nodes that achieve the desired output from the hierarchical rule-based decision policy. The embodiment also includes computing a user-facing explanation that includes a range constraint for achieving the desired output by aggregating the intermediate explanations. The embodiment also includes transmitting, as a response to the explanation request, an explanation for achieving the desired output from the hierarchical rule-based decision policy based on the user-facing explanation.

  • Patent number: 9557259
Abstract: A particle detector apparatus for optically ascertaining a number of particles arranged on a surface of, for example, a particle filter. The particle detector apparatus includes a light source, an optical focusing device, a spatially resolving light detector and an evaluation device. The light source emits source light onto the surface. The optical focusing device focuses image light that is emitted from the surface in response to the source light onto the spatially resolving light detector. The spatially resolving light detector includes light sensors that measure brightness values based on the image light, such that the light detector produces image data based on the brightness values delivered by the light sensors. The evaluation device then ascertains the number of particles based on the image data.
