    Abstract: The invention is based on a wiper system (10) having a mounting plate (12), on whose mounting plate tube (14) a wiper bearing (20) is disposed on one end and a cast part (16) is disposed on the other, and a first bearing housing (22) for a second drive shaft (26) and a second bearing housing (28) for a control shaft (30) of a four-bar lever linkage are integrated with the cast part, and the second drive shaft (26) is driven by a wiper motor (32) via a motor crank (36), a drive element (44), and a bearing rocker (46). It is proposed that the wiper motor (32) is disposed as a reversing motor on the passenger side, and its motor shaft (34) is disposed on the cast part (16) in the vicinity of the second drive shaft (26), between the second drive shaft (26) and the control shaft (30), and the drive element (44) is embodied as a coupling plate.

    Abstract: A windshield wiper arm for windshield wipers in motor vehicles has a fastening part which is connected to a wiper shaft. A joint part connected to a wiper blade is articulated at the fastening part so as to be loaded by a spring. An articulation pin at the point of articulation is located on the side opposite the connection point between the joint part and the wiper blade in respect to a receptacle for the wiper shaft. The application points of the spring between the joint part and the fastening part lie on opposite sides relative to the receptacle of the wiper shaft.

    Abstract: In a multicell electric storage battery designed for central gas release, before being released into the open air the battery gases pass through a container positioned on the block casing in which the acid particles and moisture are separated from the gases as a consequence of the gases being repeatedly deflected by a series of walls placed in the path of the gases, which may be perforated if desired, and the dehumidified gases are then passed through a porous flame-protection frit. Flashback of a flame caused by external ignition of the gases is prevented by rapid burn-off of the gases in a flame extinguishing chamber preceding the frit.

    Abstract: Novel hyperacid solid metal lactates containing up to about twenty moles of lactic acid per mole a neutral metal lactate are produced by reacting an aqueous solution of lactic acid containing up to about 0.5 percent polylactic acids with a suitable metal compound. Such lactates have the formula Me(C.sub.3 H.sub.5 O.sub.3).sub.x (C.sub.3 H.sub.6 O.sub.3).sub.n wherein n represents a number from 4 to 12 and x corresponds to the valence of the metal Me, and are useful in the food industry as substitutes for liquid lactic acids in the making of bread and beverages.
