  • Patent number: 6663388
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection between a known dental implant (1) and a straight or angular abutment (2) which can be established by means of a base screw (3) and a support ring (4). The support ring (4) is fixedly introduced into the inlet of the abutment (2) near the lower edge of same, preferably by welding or by bending over of the lower edge of the abutment (2). Before insertion of the support ring (4) the base screw (3) is introduced head first into the inlet (24) from the side of the root part of the abutment. The base screw is held in the abutment (2) by the support ring (4) on which the base screw (3) rests. The threaded shank (32) of the base screw (3) engages the inner thread (14) provided for in the implant (1) and draws the abutment (2) into the receiving hole (12) of the implant (1). An angled surface of the base screw (3) and a beveled surface of the support ring (4) contact each other so that the welding seam or bent over lower edge of the abutment (2) are relieved of axial stress.

  • Patent number: 5836768
Abstract: For a dental implant (10) which can be inserted into the jaw bone (1) and which is intended principally as a support for a crown or another superstructure, an anchoring base (30) which s can be fitted releasably on the implant (10) was created for the purpose of preliminary orthodontic treatment. The vertical outer sides of the anchoring base (30) are designed as fastening surfaces (31). A bracket (50) can be fixed on a selected fastening surface (31) by means of a bonding layer (60). Orthodontic apparatus components (70, 71) are fastened on this bracket (50). The anchoring base (30) is screwed onto the implant (10) using an occlusal screw (80) and in the process can be locked in a finely adjustable position of rotation. The eccentrically arranged bore (37) promotes adaptation to the spatial conditions and to the orthodontic task. The anchoring base (30) is suitable for a wide range of types of implants (10) and brackets (50).

  • Patent number: 5368483
Abstract: The device for fixing a dental prosthesis has a base which can be inserted into a jaw bone, an abutment and a shell. The base has a hole with a mouth at its end face, with an internal thread and with an extension and has a conical annular surface enclosing the mouth of the hole. The abutment has a thread part which passes through the shell in the assembled device and is screwed into the internal thread of the base, and an outer part located outside the base and serving for holding a dental prosthesis. In the assembled device, the shell fits into the extension of the hole and rests with a conical outer surface firmly against a conical inner surface of the base. Furthermore, the outer part of the abutment rests with a conical stop surface firmly against the annular surface of the base. In the assembled device, the abutment is connected to the base in a stable manner and covers its end face without leaving gaps.

  • Patent number: 5196016
Abstract: A means for fastening a capping on bone tissue or the like over an area of original, locally depressed, chipped or fractured tissue to promote the growth of additional tissue is disclosed, comprising generally, a pin which has, at one end, a bead for attachment of a foil and, at the other end, an external thread for threading into the original tissue or bone. Between the bead and the thread is a smooth-walled segment whose diameter is preferably larger than the diameter of the external thread. The method, unlike previous prior art methods, facilitates growing of the bone between two teeth or between teeth and a denture. The method permits, for example, restoring a jawbone to a larger extent than over areas where there were only slight depressions.
