Patent number: 6003856Abstract: A system for dispensing sheet material such as security documents from one of two sheet compartments to a collecting station is disclosed. The system includes a delivery roller and a stepping motor provided independently for each of the two sheet compartments. The delivery roller associated with each of the sheet compartments draws the foremost sheet from a sheet stack within the respective compartment. The foremost sheet drawn off from the stack is fed to a conveyor roller independently associated with each respective sheet compartment wherein the conveyor roller of each sheet compartment is driven by the stepping motor of the other sheet compartment. The sheet drawn off from the stack is fed to a dispensing conveyor which is common to both sheet compartments. The drive for the system is carried out by the two stepping motors. The motors are operated in opposite directions when dispensing is taking place from each of the sheet compartments.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1998Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gunter Holland-Letz, Ulrich Nottelmann, Udo Tewes, Peter Weigel

Patent number: 4919412Abstract: A control system for the pressing force created on the draw-off roller system (24) in a single-feed mechanism for sheet material (16) is described. This pressing force has an optimum value when the time required for the respective draw-off operation is the minimum amount. For a corresponding regulation, a time measurement is performed with successive draw-off operations. The times thus determined are evaluated, and if they are found to be the same, the value of the pressing force reached following regulation of a drive that produces the pressing force is retained.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 1988Date of Patent: April 24, 1990Assignee: Nixdorf Computer AGInventors: Peter Weigel, Guenter Holland-Letz, Heinz Ademmer, Ulrich Nottelmann
