Abstract: A mobile monitoring system having a master or receive unit and one or more transmit or slave units is described. The system allows a person freedom of movement while being able to track through a wireless receive unit(s) persons or animals wearing or carrying a mobile transmitter. The system provides both passive or active query and response tracking of persons within a limited range. Range can be extended by incorporating additional communication features drawing from cellular networks or other wireless communication standards.
