  • Patent number: 5074886
Abstract: Process for dyeing or printing glass fibers, in particular textile glass fibers in various forms, by dyeing or printing the fiber materials with anionic dyes in the presence of cationic compounds following an acid pretreatment. The cationic compounds may be applied to the fiber material before the actual dyeing or printing process or else be applied together with the dye from the same dyeing liquor or printing paste. Suitable cationic compounds are in particular polyquaternized ammonium compounds. Level dyeings are obtained on the glass fiber materials with good light fastness properties.

  • Patent number: 4822169
Abstract: The measuring assembly for analyzing electromagnetic radiation comprises the following structural groups arranged one behind the other in the beam path:at least one linear polarizer (2);at least one optically active element (3) of known optical activity, i.e. known frequency response of the rotation of the polarization plane; andat least one analyzer (4) the polarization direction of which has a fixedly set orientation with respect to the direction of transmission of the linear polarizer. The beam issuing from the analyzer (4) is passed through a photosensitive sensor (7,8) to a measuring circuit. The total intensity of the radiation under investigation is determined in various ways by forming a reference signal, namely by direct measurement with the optically active element temporarily removed from the beam path, by neutralizing a partial beam, or by a beam splitting analyzer.

  • Patent number: 4699514
Abstract: Multibeam measuring device for the real time polarimetric analysis of samples (6), wherein a linearly polarized measuring beam (M) is separated after having traversed the sample (6) by means of a first separation blade (8), preferably a diffraction unit, into a reference beam (R) and at least one test beam (P). Photodiodes (10, 12) record the intensities of both partial beams between which a certain ratio is established, an analyzer (14) with fixed throughpass direction being inserted downstream of a photodiode (12). The intensity value of the test beam (P) which is standardized by the formation of the ratio as a function of the intensity of the reference beam (R) is inputted into a digital data processing unit (24). For the ratio formation, an analog-digital converter (22) is used and provided downstream of the digital data processing unit (24).

  • Patent number: 4671660
Abstract: A device for measuring the rotation of the plane of vibration of linearly polarized electromagnetic radiation includes a beam splitter that divides the radiation into beams following a measurement beam path and a reference beam path, and each of the beam paths are analyzed after interaction with a reference element and a sample to be measured. The beams impinge upon photosensitive sensors and the output signal from such sensors is processed to determine the characteristics of the sample that are desired to be analyzed.

  • Patent number: 4435980
Abstract: A apparatus for measuring at least one parameter of a fluid flowing between two conduit sections has a housing connected between the sections and having a throughgoing main passage communicating therebetween and an externally open branch passage extending from the main passage between the sections. The housing is formed at the junction of the main and branch passages with a valve seat. A valve body on the seat is formed with a throughgoing and at least generally T-shaped valve passage having a pair of arm sections alignable with the main passage and a leg section aligned with the branch passage. The body is displaceable relative to the main passage at the seat between a flow position in which the valve passage is aligned with the main passage and the fluid can flow through the main passage between the sections and a blocking position in which the valve passage is not aligned with the main passage and fluid cannot flow through the main passage between the sections.

  • Patent number: 4308793
Abstract: An apparatus for stamping indicia on workpieces moving in a path, in a combination which comprises a rail extending along but spaced from the path of workpieces movement, and a stamping unit which is movable along this rail to and from a rest position adjacent an end portion of the rail, and which includes a housing having a lower part which is movable transversely to the workpiece movement path. Cam and follower means are provided for biasing the lower part against a workpiece moving in the path, and an inking box adjacent the end portion of the rail is so positioned so as to be in tight engagement with the housing of the stamping unit when the unit is in its rest position, so as to be protected against ink evaporation and entry of contaminants.

  • Patent number: 4247845
Abstract: A control data input device for use with an electrical household appliance such as an electronic range to control the operation modes, times, temperatures and cooking duration of the appliance. A selector dial calibrated in a plurality of codes automatically addresses a data store through a switching means when one of the codes is selected by rotation at the dial. A second dial is provided to enter control information into the selected address at a variable transfer rate selected by turning this second dial. A digital display and display driver are provided to display the information as it is addressed and stored in the data store. The code selector dial is provided with function indicators and indicator lights to visually inform the operator as to which code has been selected.

  • Patent number: 4149518
Abstract: A baking oven has a flame tube defining a baking chamber and a charging opening oriented in a vertical plane; a door for opening and closing the charging opening; a rail structure secured to the door and extending into the oven externally of the flame tube for providing a sliding support for the door for sliding movement in a horizontal direction towards and away from the charging opening. The door is horizontally divided into a lower door portion and an upper door portion. The upper portion is pivotally attached to the lower door portion to provide for a swinging motion of the upper door portion from an upright orientation in an arcuate vertical direction away from the charging opening.
