Abstract: A textile fabric for preventing the penetration and water spreading in cables, having at least one layer, which is at least partially covered by an absorbent material and has pores, which pores can be at least partially closed under the effect of liquid due to absorbent material swelling, the absorbent material being bonded to the textile layer, at least in some areas, has a DIN ISO 9073-3 tensile strength in machine direction of >50 N/5 cm, and obtainable by a method involving: treating a layer containing pores with a mixture containing a polymerizable monomer or oligomer and a cross-linking agent and, as absorbent material precursor, a wetting agent and initiator, and polymerization of the monomer or oligomer under formation of a bonded connection between the absorbent material and the layer. The textile fabric can have a DIN EN ISO 9237 air permeability in dry state of greater than 200 dm3/(m2s).

Abstract: A method of introducing proteins to a patient is provided for treating a wide variety of diseases. The method includes collecting blood from a patient's vein. Gold particles are mixed into the blood and the combination of blood and gold particles are allowed to incubate to produce a protein enriched serum. After incubation, the gold particles are removed and the protein enriched serum is administered to a patient such as by syringe injection.

Abstract: A fastening arrangement for fastening at least two components together may be utilized in a motor vehicle. The fastening arrangement may include a plurality of screw-on brackets provided on a first component, and a number of retaining pegs provided on a second component. The screw-on brackets may include a through hole that may receive a respective projection of the number of retaining pegs when the first component and the second component are assembled with one another. At least one retaining pegs may include a cover plate that may facilitate receiving an associated screw-on bracket laterally and clip the screw-on bracket between the at least one retaining peg and the cover plate. A screw-in peg having a screw-in opening may be disposed on the second component. A hold-down may be securable to the screw-in peg to secure an associated screw-on bracket and an associated retaining peg.

Abstract: The invention relates to a carboxylate ester of polysaccharide characterised in that it possesses ester bonds with trimellitic anhydride and is soluble in water. The polysaccharide is esterified with trimellitic anhydride and the degree of substitution of the polysaccharide lies in the range of from 0.5 to 3. The invention further relates to methods for the manufacture of these polysaccharides esters in organic solvents, in water or in an extruder or a kneader and to their use in fabric and home care formulations.
