  • Patent number: 7788771
Abstract: In an apparatus on a spinning room machine for depositing fiber sliver, a stationary delivery device for delivering fiber sliver and a substantially flat receiving support surface for receiving and collecting the fiber sliver as a can-less fiber sliver package are present. The receiving support surface, which is substantially unenclosed, is movable during the depositing process back and forth in the horizontal direction by a drive arrangement. In order to improve the production of the can-less fiber sliver package, the speed of the receiving support surface with the sliver package is alterable substantially on a reversal path such that a gradual braking to speed value zero to the speed of the back and forth movement are effected.

  • Patent number: 7578033
Abstract: A roller for a fibre-processing machine, for example a spinning preparation machine such as a flat card, cleaner or the like, flock feeder, roller card, nonwoven-forming machine or the like, comprises a roller body. In order to make possible, by simple means, economical manufacture and adequate dimensional stability, for example a substantially constant carding nip, the roller body has at least one metal cylinder and at least one circular cylindrical sheath of fibre-reinforced plastics material surrounding the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5328016
Abstract: An apparatus for placing fiber bales into readiness for removing fiber tufts therefrom by a travelling bale opener has a fiber bale depositing device for positioning an initial fiber bale at an inclined orientation to the vertical and for positioning, adjacent the initial fiber bale, an additional fiber bale at an angle of inclination greater than the angle of inclination of the initial bale as viewed codirectionally with the angle of the initial bale; a bale-supporting device for engaging and stabilizing the initial fiber bale; a displacing device for moving the bale-supporting device into and out of engagement with the initial fiber bale; and a control device for automatically operating the fiber bale depositing device and the displacing device for automatically and sequentially depositing the initial fiber bale, moving the bale-supporting device into engagement with the initial fiber bale, depositing the additional fiber bale into a countersupporting engagement with the initial fiber bale and moving the ba

  • Patent number: 5090090
Abstract: A bale opener arranged for travel along a series of fiber bales for removing fiber tufts from top surfaces thereof. The bale opener includes a toothed opening roll supported in an orientation transverse to a direction of travel and a grate formed of grate bars spaced in a direction transverse to the direction of travel and arranged for engaging the top surfaces of the fiber bales. The teeth of the opening roll extend between the grate bars for penetrating into the fiber bales during travel. There are further provided bale pressing elements supported by the bale opener on opposite sides of the opening roll spaced therefrom parallel to the direction of travel. The bale pressing elements are arranged to engage and press down the fiber bales during travel of the bale opener. A setting arrangement simultaneously vertically adjusts the bale pressing elements in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 5090091
Abstract: A travelling fiber tuft detaching device for removing fiber tufts from top surfaces of stationarily supported fiber bales includes two parallel-arranged detaching rollers rotatable about substantially horizontal axes spaced from one another in a travelling direction and extending transversely thereto. Each detaching roller has a plurality of detaching elements arranged in a plurality of side-by-side situated circumferential series. The detaching device further has a grate formed of a plurality of spaced grate bars extending parallel to the travelling direction. The detaching elements of each circumferential series project into spaces between respective adjoining grate bars. There is further provided a roller and/or grate setting device for adjusting a height level of the detaching rollers and/or grates relative to one another for effecting penetration of the detaching rollers into a top bale surface to different depths thereof during detaching operation.

  • Patent number: 4272866
Abstract: A carding machine has a web delivering assembly including cooperating upper and lower rollers and a web guiding device for withdrawing and gathering a fiber web discharged by the web delivering assembly. The web guiding device includes a guide element arranged immediately downstream of the rollers as viewed in the direction of advance of the fiber web. The guide element has at least one operationally stationary guide face extending transversely to the plane in which the fiber web advances. The guide element further has an upper longitudinal edge extending along the upper roller in the immediate vicinity thereof and a lower longitudinal edge extending along the lower roller at a sufficient distance therefrom for allowing waste to drop out downwardly from the fiber web as is passes from the rollers to the guide element.

  • Patent number: 4175893
Abstract: An arrangement for feeding a carding group with a pneumatic conveying system in which the feeding supplies a plurality of feed chutes. A flake flow is broken up, and is distributed with uniform circular motion, and is then converted into a flake accumulation of rectangular cross-section. The flake flow is distributed by centrifugal force effects, and the flake accumulation may be vertically compressed. A pneumatic conveying duct is followed by at least one feed chute with rectangular exit cross-section, in which an opening and distribution element with circular delivery is located between the conveying duct and the feed chute. The opening and the distribution elements, moreover, operate pneumatically, and may have a cone-shaped outer surface. The rotary speed of the opening and distribution elements may be made continuously variable, and the feed chute may have a circular entry cross-section.
