Also disclosed are assays for detecting B. mallei, B. pseudomallei, or B. thailandensis in a sample, for detecting infection by B. mallei, B. pseudomallei, or B. thailandensis, and therapeutic methods for treating infections by B. mallei, B. pseudomallei, or B. thailandensis.
