Abstract: A method is for selecting a protocol for a medical imaging examination. In an embodiment, the method includes providing a plurality of protocols; providing a classification system for medical imaging examinations having a plurality of hierarchically ordered categories; determining a node from the quantity of nodes belonging to the set of nodes by which the medical imaging examination can be identified, and to which one protocol respectively is assigned whose category relative to the categories of the other nodes of this quantity is lowest; and selecting the protocol, assigned to the determined node, for the medical imaging examination.

Abstract: A method for determining at least one protocol parameter for a contrast agent-assisted acquisition of images of a region that is to be examined of an examination subject via a medical imaging device is described. In an embodiment of the method, an acquisition of external images of the exterior of the examination subject is first performed with the aid of an external image acquisition unit. At least one body dimension of the examination subject is then determined on the basis of the acquired external images. Finally, at least one contrast agent protocol parameter is determined on the basis of the at least one determined body dimension. Furthermore, an image acquisition parameter determination device is described. In addition, an imaging medical device is also described.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for automatically determining a contrast agent injection protocol for a patient to be examined. An embodiment of the method includes provisioning a plurality of patient reference parameters, a plurality of contrast agent injection protocol parameters and a plurality of assignments of at least one given patient reference parameter with at least one given contrast agent injection protocol parameter; comparing of at least one patient parameter with the plurality of patient reference parameters, the patient parameter being based on patient information; selecting at least one patient reference parameter from the plurality of patient reference parameters based on the comparing; and determining at least one contrast agent injection protocol parameter from the plurality of contrast agent injection protocol parameters.
