  • Publication number: 20150255987
Abstract: Techniques of magnetic field distribution are described herein. The techniques may include forming a wireless charging component including a driving coil to receive a driven current generating a magnetic field. An outer turn of a parasitic coil may be formed, wherein the outer turn is adjacent to the driving coil. An inner turn of the parasitic coil may be formed, wherein an inductive coupling between the driving coil and the parasitic coil generates a redistribution of a portion of the magnetic field at the inner turn.

  • Publication number: 20150078564
Abstract: This document discloses one or more systems, apparatuses, methods, etc. for implementing an echo cancellation algorithm for long delayed echo that is created during a wire or wireless voice communications. In an implementation, a WiDi feature in a device during the wire or wireless voice communications may add an additional echo delay in addition to channel multipath delay when an audio sound signal travels from a WiDi component to a microphone of the device. In this implementation, a separate delay estimator is configured to estimate total delay. The estimated total delay is fed back to an adoptive filter component for long delay echo cancellation.

  • Publication number: 20140346886
Abstract: Described herein are techniques related to near field coupling and wireless power transfers. A portable device may include a coil antenna that includes an upper loop and a lower loop to form a figure-eight arrangement. The figure-eight coil antenna arrangement is wrapped against top and bottom surfaces of a component to establish near field coupling through front side, top side, bottom side, or corner side of the portable device. Further, a flux guide may be placed between the coil antenna and the component to facilitate magnetic flux at the upper loop and the lower loop to induce current of the same phase during receive mode. During transmit mode, the flux guide facilitates the magnetic flux at the upper loop and the lower loop to generate magnetic fields of the same direction.

  • Publication number: 20140302808
Abstract: According to one embodiment disclosed herein, there is provided an antenna module including a self-identification mechanism that may be used by one or more wireless circuits for management purposes. The self-identification mechanism may, for example, take the form of an integrated circuit (IC) device or chip that stores a serial number that may function as a unique identifier for an antenna on which it is mounted or associated. In one embodiment, a wireless module, for example containing RF components for sending and receiving signals from the antenna, queries the serial number device, and acquires the serial number for the antenna. The wireless module can use the serial number for any number of purposes, and in particular to verify that the antenna connected is a compliant antenna that will operate within the range, within the limits, and/or with the performance specified for the radio circuits within the wireless module.

  • Publication number: 20140232334
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed involving reconfigurable coils. Such coils may be used in applications, including (but not limited to) wireless charging and near field communications (NFC). For instance, a reconfigurable coil may include a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion. Two or more configurations may be established. These configurations may correspond to particular current paths. For example, in a circular configuration, a path is provided having the same rotational sense in both first and second conductive portions. However, in a figure eight configuration, a path is provided having a first rotational sense in the first conductive portion and a second rotational sense in the second conductive portion. A switch coupled between these portions may set the coil's configuration. Configurations may be selected based on one or more operating conditions involving the coil.
