  • Publication number: 20210012267
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a set of rules for filtering job recommendations, wherein the rules are selected to maximize a reduction in negative outcomes associated with the job recommendations. Next, the system generates a label for a set of candidate-job pairs that match one or more of the rules and inputs the label with a set of candidate-job features for the set of candidate-job pairs as training data for a filtering model. The system then applies the filtering model to additional candidate-job features associated with a candidate and a set of jobs to produce a set of scores, wherein each score represents a likelihood that the candidate perceives a corresponding job as an undesirable recommendation. Finally, the system outputs a subset of the jobs as recommendations to the candidate based on the set of scores.

  • Patent number: 8046631
Abstract: A system comprising a first memory, a second memory, and a controller. The first memory may be configured to store a first firmware. The second memory may be configured to store a second firmware similar to the first firmware stored on the first memory. The controller may be configured to (i) operate the first firmware stored on the first memory, (ii) discontinue operating the first firmware in response to a failure of the first firmware, and (iii) begin operating the second firmware after discontinuing operation of the first firmware.

  • Publication number: 20080165775
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and data processing system for efficiently discovering and storing path MTU information in a sending host are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, two path MTU tables are maintained. One path MTU table contains MTU values corresponding to the first-hop routers associated with the sending host. The other path MTU table contains MTU values corresponding to individual destination hosts. When the sending host needs to send information to a destination, it first consults the MTU table associated with individual destination hosts. If an entry for that destination host is found in the table, the sending host uses that MTU value. If not, the sending host consults the MTU table for the first-hop router on the path to the destination host and uses that MTU value. If that MTU value is too high, a new entry is made in the host-specific MTU table for the destination host.

  • Patent number: 5170352
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle for operating in a predetermined work area while avoiding both fixed and moving obstacles. A plurality of laser, sonic and optical sensors detect targets and obstacles in the work area and provide coded signals to processors and controllers which direct the vehicle over a most expedient route to a target while avoiding any obstacles. The vehicle is especially useful in moving around the deck of an aircraft carrier to deliver ammunition to aircraft from an ammunition magazine.
