  • Publication number: 20160242189
Abstract: A communication apparatus of an earth station to avoid frequency interference with a terrestrial communication system is provided. The communication apparatus may include a signal extractor configured to acquire a signal of a terrestrial radio station by cancelling a signal transmitted by the earth station from received signals, a detector configured to detect an interference state between a satellite communication network and a terrestrial communication network by comparing a signal strength of the signal of the terrestrial radio station to a predetermined interference signal threshold, and a frequency allocator configured to allocate a new frequency slot to be used by the earth station to transmit a signal, when the detector detects the interference state.

  • Publication number: 20150079977
Abstract: An apparatus and method of dynamically managing resources for interference control of a satellite and terrestrial integrated communication system is disclosed, the apparatus including a frequency band determiner to determine a frequency band of a satellite beam and a frequency band of a wireless signal based on information on interference between the satellite beam and the wireless signal to which a frequency band identical to the satellite beam is allocated, and a remote controller to remotely control a space-based station to output a satellite beam at an intensity corresponding to a frequency band of a satellite beam, and an earth-based station to output a wireless signal at an intensity corresponding to a frequency band of a wireless signal.

  • Patent number: 8929886
Abstract: A satellite in a multi-beam satellite communication system selects at least some active beams based on a traffic demand of each beam and channel status information of each beam, and allocates a bandwidth and a communication capacity to each active beam such that power flux density (PFD) level of each beam has the same predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 8929885
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method of selecting spot beams to be actually used based on a traffic demand and a signal attenuation of each spot beam, and activating the selected spot beams in a satellite communication system having multiple spot beams. A control apparatus of a multi-spot beam satellite may include a beam selector to select, from among a plurality of spot beams, at least one spot beam to be assigned with a transmission resource, and an assignment resource determining unit to determine a transmission resource to be assigned to the selected at least one spot beam.
