  • Publication number: 20140061608
Abstract: Electronic devices that use desiccants for protection from moisture. The electronic devices comprise a substrate and an organic element disposed over the top surface of the substrate. The substrate has one or more voids which may store desiccants. The voids may penetrate partially or completely through the thickness of the substrate. An environmental barrier is disposed over the organic element and the voids. Also provided are methods for making electronic devices that use desiccants.

  • Publication number: 20130172561
Abstract: A single-step method of making tetradentate platinum or palladium complexes is disclosed. The method advantageously allows the formation of a platinum or palladium complex in a single step, even with sterically hindered ligands, without the use of highly reactive intermediates. The compounds made by the disclosed method are useful in OLED applications.

  • Publication number: 20130146854
Abstract: A first device comprising a first organic light emitting device (OLED) is described. The first OLED includes an anode, it cathode and an emissive layer disposed between the anode and the cathode. The emissive layer includes a phosphorescent emissive dopant and a host material, that includes nanocrystals. The phosphorescent emissive dopant is bonded to the host material by a bridge moiety.
