Abstract: A method for online propagation of data updates, the method including initiating a record update process for any of a plurality of records in a system responsive to a modification of a trigger data item, where the process is performed while the system is online, creating an update process timestamp indicating a time at which the record update process is begun, and determining if a last-modified timestamp associated with any of the records indicates an eariler time than the update process timestamp, and, if so updating the record to reflect the modification to the trigger data item, and modifying the last-modified timestamp to reflect a time that is later than the update process timestamp.

Abstract: A system for session failover management in a server cluster environment, the system including one or more clusters, each cluster having one or more servers, each server having one or more partition, each partition identified by a partition ID and grouping one or more sessions, and a failover manager configured to detect the failure of any of the servers and effect the assignment any of the partitions on the failed server to another of the servers within the failed server's cluster.

Abstract: A presence server includes a receiver to receive a variety of publishing and subscribe requests from a variety of sources; a plurality of elements to process the requests; and a presence manager to flexibly configure the elements as a function of the type of the requests received. A method for processing presence information includes receiving a variety of publishing and subscribe requests from a variety of sources; processing the requests with a plurality of elements; and configuring the elements as a function of the type of the requests received.

Abstract: An apparatus and method may provide a system, apparatus and method for monitoring diabetes, including a server to serve data to a cellular communications network; a communications device including a wireless transceiver; a cellular network to enable data to be communicated between the communication device and the server; and a diabetes monitoring device including a wireless transceiver, to enable data to be communicated between the monitoring device and the communication device. The diabetes monitoring device may include sensors for monitoring one or more of for example blood glucose level, physical activity, energy intake and insulin dosage.

Abstract: A system and method is provided that includes a communication system for handling Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messages. The system includes a plurality of first servers for processing a first and a second message. The system also includes a plurality of second servers, which may include a mapping/correlating function for receiving the first message from a client and sending the first message to the plurality of first servers based on associating the first message with a resource. The second message received from the plurality of first servers is sent to the client based on stored routing information associated with the client, whereby the stored routing information resides within the plurality of second servers.

Abstract: An infrared communication system includes a plurality of infrared transceivers for receiving and transmitting infrared signals through the free air in which each transceiver includes: an omnidirectional infrared receiver for receiving infrared signals; an omnidirectional infrared transmitter for transmitting infrared signals; and a controller which determines the direction of arrival and the quality of the signals received by the infrared receiver, and controls the respective infrared transmitter in accordance therewith.
