Publication number: 20240384979Abstract: An optical system, including one or more coherent light, an optical arrangement, and a detection unit, and respective method are described. The optical arrangement includes optical elements forming at least first and second interferometer loops, each including a reference arm and an interrogating arm and are associated with at least first and second detectors of the detection unit. Light propagating in the interrogating arm is directed at a target object via an output optical element and a reflection of light from said target object is collected by an input optical element. The detection unit is configured to determine data indicative of a relation between signals detected by the at least first and second detectors. One of the first and second interferometer loops includes a first noise generator positioned to affect light propagating in both of the corresponding reference and interrogating arms, thereby affecting coherence of light in the interferometer loops.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2022Publication date: November 21, 2024Applicant: LIDWAVE LTD.Inventors: Yehuda HAI VIDAL, Uri WEISS

Patent number: 9295419Abstract: It is disclosed a device for measuring a concentration of glucose, for example, in a translucent piece of a body, like an earlobe, a tissue connecting two fingers, a nasal ala, or a cheek. The piece is illuminated by a linearly polarized laser beam at a certain polarization direction. Consequently, a diffused radiated light is emitted from the piece, including a directed beam. The device includes a polarizing beam splitter which receives the directed beam, a lens, a sensor array, and means for connecting to a processor. The splitter splits components of the directed beam at two mutually orthogonal linear polarization directions into two polarized beams propagating at two respective different directions. The lens images the distribution of the directed beam on the translucent piece on two spatially separated groups within the sensor arrays.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2013Date of Patent: March 29, 2016Assignee: T.G.M. TECHNOLOGIES LTDInventors: Aryeh Uri Weiss, Nataly Oren, Eitan Koren

Publication number: 20090299822Abstract: A system and a method for constructing a shopping list for purchasing a collection or basket of goods according to a plurality of weighted parameters, preferably with comparison to both “bricks and mortar” stores and also virtual stores (collectively termed suppliers). Preferably the weighted parameters include the ability to prefer friendlier products, such as products which are organic, environmentally friendly, ethical or a combination thereof. Optionally, the user could determine that certain goods could only be purchased from one or more outlets and/or from a particular type of outlet. Optionally and preferably, the optimization includes determining whether to purchase a larger amount of a product in order to enjoy price savings for that product. According to other preferred embodiments, the user may optionally choose to divide a basket of products between a plurality of suppliers, rather than optimizing the basket at a single supplier.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2009Publication date: December 3, 2009Inventors: Nadav Or HARARI, Yonathan SHALEV, Ishai Kadouri, Uri WEISS

Publication number: 20060212265Abstract: A method and system for assessing the quality of one or more search engines are provided. The method and system monitor reformulation sessions by users (201) of a search engine (308, 402, 403) by retrieving data from a query log (307, 407, 408), wherein a reformulation session is a series of at least two queries to a search engine (308) issued by a user (201) to satisfy a single information need. The method and system then determine a reformulation session parameter for the search engine (308, 402, 403) and analyse the reformulation session parameter. The reformulation session parameter may be a rate of query reformulations in a reformulation session or a reformulation session duration. Analysing the reformulation session parameter for a single search engine may determine if the parameter changes with time or may determine the parameter with different settings in a single search engine.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2005Publication date: September 21, 2006Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Einat Amitay, Adam Darlow, Uri Weiss
