  • Publication number: 20110185752
Abstract: The air to be supplied to a room is brought to a desired temperature and a desired humidity through the following process steps: making outside air flow as a first air stream through a first line (20) and making a first portion of exhaust air coming from the room flow as a second air stream through a second line (21), wherein moisture is exchanged between the first air stream and the second air stream by means of a device for exchanging humidity, condensing, by means of a dehumidifying and cooling device (19), moisture in the form of water from the first air stream and/or from the second air stream and/or inside the device for exchanging humidity, and making a second portion of the exhaust air flow as a third air stream through another line (32) comprising another dehumidifying and cooling device (33) and returning said second portion back to the room, wherein in the other dehumidifying and cooling device (33) moisture is condensed from the third air stream in the form of water.

  • Publication number: 20110133349
Abstract: A device for dehumidifying an air stream includes at least one first module including at least one Peltier element and at least one second module including at least one Peltier element. The entirety of the first module forms a first zone for cooling the air stream. The entirety of the second module forms a second zone for dehumidifying the air stream. The entirety of the first and the second modules forms an air channel for the air stream. A water discharge channel is disposed below the entirety of the second module and receives water accumulating during the dehumidifying of the air stream in the second zone. At least one sensor for measuring a temperature and/or a moisture of the air stream provides at least one output signal. A control unit including at least one controller controls the Peltier elements based on the at least one output signal of the at least one sensor.

  • Patent number: 7819943
Abstract: A method of exchanging water-water vapor between a first air stream and a second air stream includes making a third air stream, the flow velocity of which is regulated, flow through first and second intermediate volumes without cooling or heating the third air stream, dehumidifying the first air stream by making the first air stream flow through at least one first cavity which is separated by a first water-vapor-permeable structure from the first intermediate volume, and humidifying the second air stream by making the second air stream flow through at least one second cavity which is separated by a second water-vapor-permeable from the second intermediate volume.

  • Publication number: 20100018393
Abstract: A humidity exchanger for exchanging humidity between a first air stream and a second air stream contains a first cavity and a second cavity, which are separated by a structure permeable to water vapor, the first cavity configured to have the first air stream flow through it and a second cavity configured to have the second air stream flow through it. The humidity exchanger also contains a cleaning system having a cleaning module, which provides a liquid, vaporized, or gaseous cleaning fluid to clean the first cavity and/or the second cavity using the cleaning fluid. The cleaning may be supported using shockwaves, soundwaves, and/or ultrasound waves.

  • Patent number: 7357830
Abstract: A device for dehumidifying room air has a chamber consisting of at least one first cavity (1) and at least one second cavity (2). The cavities are separated by at least one water-permeable and/or water-vapor-permeable structure (3), these structures (3) lying in each case in the direction of the fluid streams flowing through the cavities (1, 2) of the chamber. In this case, a first air stream (11, 12) which is to be dehumidified flows through the first cavity (1). The second cavity (2), with its second air stream (13, 14), at least partly absorbs the moisture extracted from the first stream.

  • Patent number: 7273516
Abstract: A plate heat exchanger for exchanging heat between a first air stream and a second air stream includes a plurality of plates limiting first and second exchange chambers which are serially arranged in a transversal direction with respect to the plates. A first air stream of outside air passes through the first exchange chambers, a second air stream originating from ventilated rooms passes through the second exchange chambers. The heat exchanger further includes an ionization device for ionizing particles entrained in the first air stream so that the particles deposit at conductive plates of the first exchange spaces, a water distribution system for periodically discharging water into the first exchange spaces for cleaning the plates of the heat exchanger from deposited particles, and a water collection device for discharging collected water.
