  • Publication number: 20230025567
Abstract: An elevator system includes at least one shaft and at least one car arranged in the shaft, wherein the shaft is divided into multiple shaft portions, and a plurality of friction drive units are mounted on at least one shaft wall of the shaft. The friction drive units each have at least two friction wheels and wherein the car is moved in each shaft portion by at least one of the friction drive units during operation of the elevator. In at least one of the shaft portions the friction drive unit is driven in an adjustable manner so that the car is moved at a substantially continuously adjustable speed at least in this shaft portion during operation.

  • Publication number: 20150024891
Abstract: An elevator system includes a car or platform to transport passengers and/or goods as well as a counterweight, which are arranged as traversable or movable along a travel path, and which are coupled and/or with a drive by a suspension element interrelating their motion. The suspension element is guided and/or driven by a traction sheave and/or a drive shaft and/or a deflecting pulley. The suspension element is a sheathed and/or belt-type, with a first layer made of a first plasticizable and/or elastomeric material and a second layer with a connection plane formed between the first and second layers. At least one tension member—rope-type, tissue-type, or comprising a multitude of partial elements—is embedded in an area of the connection plane, a majority of a surface of said at least one tension member directly contacting said first layer. A manufacturing procedure for one of the suspension elements is provided.

  • Publication number: 20120067674
Abstract: An elevator cage is arranged in an elevator shaft at one end of a support means, and a counterweight is arranged at the other end of the support means. If the elevator cage is at the top in the elevator shaft, the support means length and the weight of the support means are large on the counterweight side. If the elevator cage is at the bottom in the elevator shaft, the support means length and the weight of the support means are large on the cage side. A first balancing element and a second balancing element are provided as equalization for the weight shift from the counterweight side to the cage side.

  • Publication number: 20060243073
Abstract: A door drive has a drive unit and a belt-like drive for moving at least one door leaf. At least one electrically conductive element extends in a longitudinal direction of the belt-like drive for transmission of electrical signals or energy to/from the at least one door leaf. A first contact device extends into a longitudinal groove formed in the belt-like drive enabling access to the at least one electrically conductive element. When the belt-like drive is moving past the first contact device, the first contact device produces a permanent contact with the at least one electrically conductive element.

  • Publication number: 20060180402
Abstract: An installation, such as an elevator installation, has a belt-like drive apparatus driven by friction couple with a drive pulley. The drive apparatus has at least one electrically conductive element extending in a longitudinal direction of the drive apparatus. During operation of the installation, a contact apparatus contacts the at least one electrically conductive element of the moving drive apparatus for transmission of signals and/or electrical energy.

  • Patent number: 6945363
Abstract: A method for monitoring shaft doors of a elevator installation uses at least one contactlessly acting shaft door monitoring sensor to emit a beam of electromagnetic waves, wherein at least during specific detection phases the beam extends over several floors and is detected by a receiver. The beam is influenced by a shaft door panel not being completely closed and/or a shaft door lock not being disposed in the locking setting such that a disturbance signal is generated to the elevator control.

  • Patent number: 6715587
Abstract: A load carrying and measuring apparatus for cable elevators includes a support construction attached to an underside of a base frame or a carrier frame for an elevator car and a pair of cable rollers attached below the support construction for engaging a support cable. A resilient element attaches at least one of the cable rollers to the support construction whereby the resilient element is deformed by load-dependent cable forces acting through the cable roller. A sensor detects the deformation of the resilient element and sends a signal to the elevator control. A resilient isolating element can be connected between the support construction the base frame or the carrier frame.
