  • Publication number: 20240103023
Abstract: A sample changer for a thermoanalytical instrument is provided. The sample charger includes a camera and image processing capabilities which provide improved positional control when depositing a sample object on or picking up a sample object from a sample support. The sample charger includes a moveable member driven for movement between at least a receiving position to pick up the sample object at a releasing sample support and a releasing position to deposit the sample object at a receiving sample support. The camera is mounted to the moveable member for movement therewith. The camera includes a field of view and a depth of focus adapted to capture an at least partial image of the sample object, the releasing or receiving sample support.

  • Publication number: 20220042834
Abstract: A method, as applied to a program-controlled measuring instrument, determines an observable property of an object. The program-controlled measuring instrument has a diagnostic measurement program that is executed by a user. The diagnostic measurement program stores data related to the execution of the diagnostic measurement program and maintains the data for remote transmission to a remote service entity.

  • Publication number: 20220042939
Abstract: In association with a method and a device for sensory measurement of a material sample, a measurement curve is used to detect deviations from the regular measuring characteristics of the device. A corresponding file can be made available to a service technician for evaluation.

  • Patent number: 6913383
Abstract: A method and apparatus for thermally investigating a material by driving the material through a temperature profile composed of isothermal and non-isothermal segments is disclosed, which enable determination of a kinetic component in a measured heat flow signal caused by the exposure of the material to the temperature profile.

  • Patent number: 6583391
Abstract: A method and apparatus for thermally analyzing a sample of a material by detecting a heat flow between the sample (7) and a heat source (1) and evaluating a functional relation between the measured heat flow (HF) and an associated temperature is based on controlling the heating power of the heat source (1) so as to cause the heat source to follow a temperature program (17) as a function of time superposed with a modulation (23) of the heating power.

  • Patent number: 6318890
Abstract: A heat flow calorimeter comprises a single sample holder (5) in thermal contact with a heat source (1). A temperature difference over mutually spaced locations (11, 12) along a heat flow path between sample (23) and heat source (1) is measured. The measured signal (24, 25) is combined with a compensation signal from a signal source (34) to derive a compensated temperature difference signal representative of the net heat flow to sample (23), (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 6146013
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing combined single differential thermal analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis of a sample relative to a reference, using either one reference measurement for a sequence of material measurements--whereby the reference can also be represented by an empty weighing pan--or by the use of a mathematical model which is so determined that it takes the real behavior of the thermal analytical apparatus into account. Reference temperature curves are generated relative to time of an empty furnace or a reference sample contained in the furnace, and temperature curves of a sample to be measured are taken at the exact same location in the furnace. The reference and sample temperature curves are compared to determine the temperature difference.
