  • Patent number: 7875124
Abstract: A method for performing wash cycles in a dishwasher comprising factory includes presetting the dishwasher to an adapted wash cycle as a default cycle, the adopted wash cycle being adapted to a combination product including a detergent agent and at least one of a water-softening agent and a rinse agent. A wash cycle is selected using a control element. Using a cycle controller, the adapted wash cycle is performed until a filling of at least one reservoir with a rinse aid or a water softener salt. Using the cycle controller, a predetermined number of standard wash cycles are performed after the filling of the at least one reservoir.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2008
Date of Patent: January 25, 2011
    Assignee: Miele & Cie. KG
Inventors: Erik Berends, Joerg Kinnius, Stephan Koch, Ursula Pieper, Monika Seifert, Cornelius Wolf

  • Patent number: 6022729
Abstract: The N-terminal amino acid sequence of the polyhydroxyalkanoic acid (PHA) granule-associated M.sub.r 15,500 protein of Rhodococcus ruber, which is referred to as the GA14-protein, was analysed. The sequence revealed that the corresponding structural gene is represented by the open reading frame 3 encoding a protein with a calculated M.sub.r 14,175 which was recently localized downstream of the PHA synthase gene (Pieper, U., and A. Steinbuchel, 1992. FEMS Microbiol. Lett. 96: 73-80). A recombinant strain of Escherichia coli XL1-Blue carrying the hybrid plasmid (pSKXA10*) with ORF3 overexpressed the GA14-protein. The GA14-protein was subsequently purified in a three-step procedure including chromatography on DEAE-Sephacel, Phenyl-Sepharose CL-4B and Superose 12. Determination of the molecular weight by gel filtration as well as electron microscopic studies make a tetrameric structure of the recombinant, native GA14-protein most likely.

  • Patent number: 3957070
Abstract: An umbrella including a shortenable frame having dome ribs and a crown at the end of a stick. A cover is supported by the dome ribs and is attached to the crown and peripherally to the ends of the dome ribs. The cover is also attached to the dome ribs at intermediate points between the ends of the dome ribs and the crown. The cover includes a plurality of radially extending stiffened areas including a flexible hinge area at a position such that each radially extending stiffened portion is separated into at least two radially aligned portions whereby the cover material can fold therebetween. The full extent of the radially extending stiffened areas is provided on the portion of the cover between the crown and the intermediate attachment points.
