  • Patent number: 8155506
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing media information are disclosed and may include tracking a number of times that at least one stored identifier that identifies program content for a particular data channel that is received via one of a plurality of multiplexed transport data streams is modified. At least a portion of the received program content for the particular data channel may be discarded based on the tracking. The at least one stored identifier that identifies the program content for the particular data channel may include a packet identifier (PID) and a processor identifier associated with the PID that identifies at least one of a plurality of processors that parses at least a portion of the program content for the particular data channel that is received via one of the plurality of multiplexed transport data streams.

  • Patent number: 8023409
Abstract: Methods and systems for a reconfigurable pattern filtering engine may include assembling a hardware filter from a plurality of minimum length hardware filters. A length of the assembled hardware filter may vary in multiples of a length of one of the minimum length hardware filters. The assembled hardware filter and the minimum length hardware filters may be integrated within a single chip. Specific messages in the data stream may be filtered using the assembled hardware filter. The assembled hardware filter may use at least one filter coefficient, an inclusion mask, and an exclusion mask to filter messages. At least a portion of the filtered messages may be stored in memory via direct memory access transfers.

  • Patent number: 7668270
Abstract: Methods and systems for a programmable filtering offset may include filtering desired data located at a variable offset from a start of a particular message in a data stream using a programmable hardware filter module. The variable offset may be specified in bits or bytes. The programmable hardware filter module may start filtering from an offset corresponding to the start of the desired data. The programmable hardware filter module may be a variable length filter or a fixed length filter. An offset from the start of a particular message may be determined, where the desired data that may be compared may start after the offset from the beginning of the message. The programmable hardware filter module may be configured with the determined offset.

  • Patent number: 6249851
Abstract: In a computer system, a processing unit generates a read request and sends it to a cache. If data for the read request is not in the cache, the cache forwards the request to a bus interface unit. If the forwarded request does not fall within the address range of any bus read transaction stored in the bus interface unit, the bus interface unit stores a new bus read transaction corresponding to the forwarded request and sends an identifier for the new transaction to the processing unit. In one preferred embodiment, if the forwarded request falls within the address range of one of the bus read transactions stored in the bus interface unit, the bus interface unit discards the forwarded request and sends an identifier for the one transaction to the processing unit. Additionally, a method of processing read requests is provided. A read request is stored in a buffer and sent to a cache.
