    Abstract: The present invention provides Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) genetically modified for overexpressing Pacer—a newly described autophagy protein—where these MSC have immunomodulatory effects. The invention also provides the method for obtaining the MSC overexpressing Pacer and pharmaceutical formulations comprising said cells. The MSC according to the invention are useful in the treatment of diseases with inflammatory origin and/or component.
