Patent number: 8202007Abstract: A multiple-row and axially biased angular ball bearing with a one-piece outer ring and an inner ring that has two inner ring halves. In order to facilitate an easy and precise setting of the desired pretensioning force and to produce a transport-safe mount cartridge, it is intended that the axial distance of at least two close-end contact surfaces of the angular ball bearing should be equal to zero in the pretensioned state, and that the axial distance of at least two close-end contact surfaces of the angular ball bearing should be greater than zero in a nonpretensioned state.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2007Date of Patent: June 19, 2012Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Publication number: 20070029156Abstract: The friction clutch between the prime mover and the change-speed transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle is actuatable by a slave cylinder cooperating with a master cylinder wherein the piston is movable by a clutch pedal or by an electric actuator. The casing of the slave cylinder is made, at least in part, of a plastic material and defines a plenum chamber arranged to receive pressurized fluid from the master cylinder by way of a conduit extending through a bell which contains the clutch and the slave cylinder. The annular piston of the slave cylinder surrounds the input shaft of the transmission. The plastic material of the casing of the slave cylinder can contain one or more additives which enhance its strength and/or influence its frictional engagement with the adjacent surfaces of the piston or of a lip seal which reciprocates with the piston.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2006Publication date: February 8, 2007Inventors: Axel Rogner, Manfred Jansen, Woflgang Fugel, Ulrich Helfmeier, Ernani Almeida, Dieter Adler, Uwe Abraham, Gerhard Meyer, Ludwig Winkelmann, Rainer Venz, Manfred Kraus, Peter Giese, Roland Welter, Jean-Francois Heller, Volker Lang, Wolfgang Sulger, Urban Panther

Publication number: 20050064943Abstract: An adjustable roller unit for an internal joint part of a tripod constant-velocity joint. An end of the internal joint part projects into an external joint part. The internal joint part has a bearing journal which is directed radially outward and on which a roller is mounted in a swivelable manner, and the roller is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the journal. The roller is rotatably mounted on a bearing which is displaceable coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the bearing journal and the mounting permits swiveling of the respective roller on the bearing. The bearing is a linear bearing movable along the journal as the roller swivels. Stops control that movement along the journal.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2004Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventors: Uwe Abraham, Peter Jennes

Publication number: 20040218843Abstract: A radial bearing unit for a driveshaft in motor vehicles, in particular a halfshaft for connecting a transmission with a driven front wheel, includes a holder having a housing made of two housing portions which are so configured as to form together a spherical receptacle. The integrity of the housing is realized by providing the housing portions with flanges for mutual support. Seated in the spherical receptacle is a curved outer surface area of a rolling-contact bearing. Each of the housing portions has at least two tabs extending radially in spaced-apart relationship from the flanges for form-fitting engagement in a machine part, when the radial bearing unit is installed in the machine part.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 22, 2004Publication date: November 4, 2004Applicant: INA-SCHAEFFLER KGInventors: Peter Jennes, Uwe Abraham, Pierre Simon

Patent number: 4380274Abstract: An internal spline of a hollow shaft containing a hydrostatic motor receives an external spline of a sleeve extending from a planetary carrier being part of a two-stage planetary gear transmission for imparting rotation on a hub being journalled on the shaft. An annular disk with radially inwardly directed teeth has been slipped onto the external spline, with play between it and the carrier; after turning the disk to align its teeth with the external spline ridges, it is releasably secured to the shaft end after the latter's internal spline has received the external spline. The disk permits relative axial movement of the carrier bounded by it and by the external spline.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1981Date of Patent: April 19, 1983Inventors: Uwe Abraham, Karl-Heinz Jakubowski, Wilhelm Koster
