  • Patent number: 7722020
Abstract: An arrangement for clamping a thin rod of glass or quartz having a diameter below 1 mm in two mutually-spaced clamping locations for holding the rod extended between the two clamping locations. The arrangement also comprises first clamping device arranged to clamp the rod in a first clamping location. The first clamping device has a first clamping member (22) with a clamp face (23) of substantially V-groove type for receiving the rod in the groove (24). The first clamping member is movably arranged with respect to a framework (45) of the apparatus for clamping a rod.

  • Publication number: 20080132776
Abstract: In a method and magnetic resonance apparatus for selective excitation of nuclear spins of an examination region in an examination subject using at least one radio-frequency excitation pulse and using slice-selective magnetic fields, the slice-selective magnetic field gradients are selected dependent on the position of the examination region relative to at least one structure surrounding the examination region.

  • Patent number: 7382126
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for detection improvement of a weakly-sensitive atomic nucleus type in MR spectroscopy data acquisition using polarization transfer for a strongly-sensitive atomic nucleus type (A) with involvement of an MR-active, weakly-sensitive atomic nucleus type (X), all RF pulses are radiated sequentially, i.e. with defined time interval relative to one another, such that at no point in time of the sequence are different RF pulses radiated simultaneously or overlapping, and the sequence of the RF pulses causes a polarization transfer of the two involved atomic nucleus types (A), (X).

  • Patent number: 7315167
Abstract: A volume coil for a magnetic resonance (MR) tomography apparatus has a number of array coils or coil parts arranged on at least one coil carrier. The coil carrier annularly encloses or the coil carriers annularly encloses or enclose a cross-sectional area that can be varied by modifying the position of the coil carriers or parts thereof relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 7265548
Abstract: In a method for switching a localized saturation pulse in magnetic resonance spectroscopy or magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic field gradients are switched during the saturation pulse, with the steps of establishing the examination region, establishing the position of the saturation pulse relative to the examination region, determining the spectral position of the signal to be saturated, and selecting the magnetic field gradients dependent on the position of the saturation pulse relative to the examination region and dependent on the spectral position of the signal to be saturated.

  • Patent number: 6919721
Abstract: In a hybrid CSI procedure for a magnetic resonance device, for a predeterminable volume of interest of the hybrid CSI procedure, the magnetic resonance device automatically defines an increased volume that exceeds the volume of interest such that all magnetic resonance signal-emitting substances of interest contained in the volume of interest are excited in order to create the magnetic resonance signals to be evaluated spectroscopically, and a saturation volume directly adjoining the volume of interest is automatically defined and saturated before the excitation by the magnetic resonance device such that no unwanted magnetic resonance signals are created from outside the volume of interest.

  • Patent number: 5828215
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for phase contrast MR angiography, for topically resolved flow acquisition, bipolar flow coding gradients are activated before readout of nuclear magnetic resonance signals. By using flow coding gradients of different amplitudes in successive measurements within a pulse sequence, nuclear magnetic resonance signals are obtained that are differently sensitive to flow. A larger range of flow velocities can thereby be covered.
