Abstract: Polyurethane adhesive mixtures or polyurethane adhesive solutions contain(a) a polyurethane elastomer which advantageously has a mean molecular weight of not less than 30,000 and which is prepared by reacting(i) one or more essentially linear polyesterpolyols and(ii) one or more chain extenders with(iii) a mixture of 4,4'- and 2,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate isomers in a weight ratio of from 60:40 to 40:60 and(b) if appropriate, additives and/or organic solvents.

Abstract: The object of this invention is a moisture-curing, storage stable, single-component polyurethane system comprising:A. a polyurethane prepolymer with a free isocyanate content of 1 to 5 percent by weight;B. a dialdimine having the formulaR[--N.dbd.CH--C(CH.sub.3).sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--CO--CH--(CH.sub.3).sub.2 ].sub.2in whichR is a divalent aliphatic radical with 2 to 10 carbon atoms, aliphatic radical having 4 to 10 carbon atoms and containing ether oxygen and/or lower alkylamino nitrogen atoms, cycloaliphatic radical with 6 to 15 carbon atoms oraromatic radical with 6 to 21 carbon atoms;andC. an acid catalyst selected from the group consisting of aliphatic carboxylic acids, aromatic carboxylic acids, toluenesulfonic acid, and mixtures thereof.The polyurethane systems are used as coating, sealing, casting, spackling and bonding materials.

Abstract: Production of polymers in bead form by forming a water-in-oil suspension of an aqueous solution containing at least one water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer in an inert hydrophobic liquid organic dispersion medium and polymerizing the suspended monomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator and a protective colloid obtained by reacting an oily or resinous polymer of an olefin and/or diolefin, said polymer containing hydrogen atoms in the allyl position, with 2 to 30% by weight, based on the oil and/or resin, of maleic anhydride.
