Abstract: The present invention relates to new yellow couplers of formula (I) for colour photographic materials wherein R1 represents alkyl or hetaryl, R2 represents halogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, R3 represents alkoxycarbonyl (—COOR′), carbamoyl (—CONHR′R″), urethane (—NHCOOR′), R4 represents a substituent, R5 represents alkyl or aryl, and R6 represents hydroxy-(ethyloxy)n, where n=1 to 2 and to a colour photographic material containing said couplers of formula (I).
