Abstract: A method for operating a user equipment in a cellular network, the cellular network comprising a plurality of base stations, wherein at least one base station is configured to maintain neighbor relation data, wherein the user equipment is operating with an active base station in narrowband communication category, the method including, for the user equipment—receiving from the active base station a measurement instruction message, the measurement instruction message containing at least one restriction parameter relating to at least one of a reporting time indication and a minimum power level indicator, —receiving a connection release message, —measuring signals from at least one neighbor base station considering the at least one restriction parameter, and, on occasion of a reconnection—transmitting at least one neighbor measurement report to the active base station.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for data transmission from a first user equipment to a base station of a cellular network, where the first user equipment is camping on under coverage enhancement conditions, the first user equipment being communicatively connected to at least one second user equipment via a device-to-device communication channel, wherein for the data transmission of at least one data packet, the method comprises the steps for the first user equipment of: transmitting the at least one data packet to the at least one second user equipment via the device-to-device communication channel, instructing the at least one second user equipment to transmit the at least one data packet time-synchronized with the first transmission to the base station.

Abstract: A method for securing a direct communication connection between a first and a second user equipment, both configured to operate with base stations of a wireless network, in which the first user equipment maintains an authentication code received from a first security center accessible via the wireless network, said first security center being assigned to a first area, the method comprising the steps for the first user equipment of: maintaining a trust level of the authentication code, reducing the trust level relating to the time of last access to one of the base stations of the wireless network, submitting to the second user equipment the authentication code and the trust level, for setting up the direct communication connection, and in case of reception of a confirmation transmission from the second user equipment: setting up the direct communication connection with the second user equipment.
