  • Publication number: 20060123991
Abstract: An adsorption filter having at least one layer of activated carbon particles is, with regard to the object of refining an adsorption filter of the described type, to be refined in such a way that it has a distinctly improved penetration characteristic compared to conventional filters involving a configuration which is as simple and cost-effective as possible and that at least 20 percent by weight of the activated carbon particles have a particle size of less than 0.180 mm and that the total mass per unit area of activated carbon is between 100 g/m2 and 500 g/m2. The adsorption filter can provide a high spontaneous adsorption performance.

  • Publication number: 20060090433
Abstract: A system is disclosed for a plate-shaped filter element (2) in a gas filter housing (1). The filter element (2) has filter material (3), which is folded in a zigzag shape, having filter folds closed at the front edges, and the closure (4) being made of essentially the same filter material which forms the filter folds, and having an edge area (5) projecting outward on both sides, and in which the two edge areas (5) are inserted into the housing (1) of a gas filter to form a seal in order to isolate a downstream clean chamber (6), the housing (1) having insert struts (7), on the sides assigned to the end folds of the plate-shaped filter element (2), which engage the end folds (8) and ensure a leakage air rate of 0 to 4 m3/h at a differential pressure of at least 200 Pa.

  • Publication number: 20060016340
Abstract: A filter system in particular for filtering the fresh air supplied to the interior of a motor vehicle is described, including at least one particle-filtering area and at least one chemical filter area, the chemical filter area including an activated carbon filter. The particle-filtering area has a filter efficiency of T (0.3 ?m)?90%, measured according to DIN 71460/1 @ 300 m3/h using AC fine test dust and T (0.1 ?m)?60%, measured according to DIN 71460 @ 300 m3/h using NaCl as the test aerosol. The filter system is characterized by an optimized separation of diesel exhaust and in particular by a definitely improved odor reduction in the case of diesel odor.

  • Patent number: 6045598
Abstract: A filter insert which is insertable in a sealing manner into a filter housing includes an accordion fold pack whose end walls extend perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal direction of the filter pack. Each of the end walls is surrounded in a sealing manner by a shape-stabilizing, clamp-shaped reinforcing element, each of the reinforcing elements being integrally formed in one piece with a gasket. The gasket is capable of being placed, in a sealing manner under elastic prestressing, against the adjacent housing wall of the filter housing.
