  • Patent number: 6187401
Abstract: The invention proposes a double-walled body with cover panels between which spacers are arranged. The double-walled body is distinguished in that the spacers are designed as cylinders, in particular tubes (6), of which the cylinder axes run orthogonally with respect to the cover-panel surfaces, in that one set of tubes (6) (first tubes (7)) is of a length which corresponds to the clear width between the cover panels (3, 5), and in that another set of tubes (6) (second tubes (9)) engages in, or through, apertures (13) in the cover panels (3, 5) by way of the end regions (11) in each case, and in that the interior of at least some of the second tubes (9) accommodates fastening means, in particular threaded bushes.

  • Patent number: 6059703
Abstract: A device for numerically controlled (NC) manufacturing, manipulating and measuring apparatuses has a frame structure with peripheral force introduction locations and at least one movement unit with peripheral force introduction locations. At least three adjusting devices each having a first and a second part are provided. Each adjusting device has a first and a second connecting member positioned at a spacing to the first connecting member. The first parts are connected by the first connecting members to the force introduction locations of the movement unit, wherein these force introduction locations are positioned in a first imaginary coupling plane. The first parts are connected by the second connecting members to the force introduction locations of the frame structure, wherein these force introduction locations are positioned in a first imaginary coupling plane of the frame structure. The second parts are connected by the first connecting members to the movement unit.

  • Patent number: 6039096
Abstract: The invention concerns a milling tool (10) with reduced noise emission for machining panel-like pieces of wood. The reduction in noise emission is brought about by reducing the vibrations produced in the tool and workpiece and by proportioning the cut, machining being carried out in two stages. The greatest part of the chip volume (first stage) is removed under favorable noise-emission conditions using a special cutting geometry. The tool and workpiece vibrations are reduced by a clearly reduced rise in the shear force pulse using a special cutting tooth geometry. The chip volume removed under these conditions is only small (second stage), and so good quality machining can be attained.

  • Patent number: 4711016
Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible manufacturing unit with at least two machine tools (1,2) and a transport device (9) movable in rectangular coordinates having receptacles for carriers (8) holding workpieces and for the tools (6). The invention consists in that the transport device (9) is numerically controlled, that the tools (6) are individually transportable between a tool buffer store (29) and the machine tools (1,2) and that tool magazines (5) integrated with the machine tools are provided, which tool magazines are also accessible for tool exchange during the working period of the machine tools (1,2). In this way, a rapid method of operation is possible which is independent of the cycle and permits free selection.
