Patent number: 12070783Abstract: A method and an apparatus for axially shaping a tube use a mandrel guided in the tube and an annular die guided on the outside of the tube. The tube is clamped in a clamping device. The outer diameter of the tube is reduced by moving the annular die in a pushing direction. In order to form undercuts on the outside and inside of the tube the method uses the following steps: Reversing the direction of movement of the die and the mandrel upon reaching an end position from the pushing direction to an opposite pulling direction. In a first setting step, the die and the mandrel are then moved in relation to one another to a first preset annular-gap setting, and in a subsequent first shaping step, the die and the mandrel are moved in the pulling direction, while maintaining the preset annular gap.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2020Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: Walter Henrich GmbHInventors: Uwe Steinmetz, Bernd Henrich

Patent number: 6474653Abstract: A seal arrangement for a shaft having a broad rpm range, supported in a housing, in particular for axle drives. A radial shaft seal, arranged in the housing bore hole, seals the shaft bearing space from loss of lubricant. A baffle plate, joined to the shaft, and having a lip seal, is aligned radially to the inside, which under the effect of centrifugal force lifts off from its sealing surface at higher rotational speeds of the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2000Date of Patent: November 5, 2002Assignee: Firma Carl FreudenbergInventors: Günter Hintenlang, Uwe Henrich

Patent number: 5895052Abstract: A device for sealing the annular gap between a housing and a shaft supported in the housing. The device comprises an inner ring, an outer ring, and an elastomeric sealing member joined to the outer ring. The sealing member has three sealing lips, of which only the first abuts, under prestressing, against the inner ring. The two other sealing lips are configured in such a way that, between their outer ends and the sections of the inner ring lying opposite to their outer ends, gaps are formed which act as a contact-free sealing. In addition, a gap may be provided between a radially extending annular disk portion of the sealing member and an outer flanged section of the inner ring axially opposite the annular disk portion. That gap and the gaps at the ends of the second and third sealing lips form a labyrinth seal.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1997Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Firma Carl FreudenbergInventors: Rolf Drucktenhengst, Uwe Henrich

Patent number: 5445049Abstract: A torsional vibration damper having a substantially cup-shaped hub ring made from deep drawn sheet metal. The base of the hub ring has at least one orifice for mounting the damper to a machine part subject to torsional vibrations, the hub ring being joined by at least one spring element made of an elastomeric material - in a manner allowing relative rotation - to at least one inertial ring. The base is provided with an annular centering collar, extending in the axial direction, which fits around the outer periphery of the machine part in partial contact. The centering collar and the base are configured integrally and continuously with one another.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1994Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Firma Carl FreudenbergInventors: Gunter Ullrich, Herwig Honlinger, Uwe Henrich
