Abstract: A method for manufacturing a porous membrane suitable for use as a separator of a lithium ion battery, comprising the following steps: 1) compounding a polymer and hydrophobic filler by dry mixing; 2) extruding the compounded mixture to obtain a cast film and 3) stretching the cast film to obtain the porous membrane. A porous membrane suitable for use as a separator of a lithium ion battery, a separator for a lithium ion battery, a lithium ion battery, and a device are also provided.

Abstract: Thermoplastic elastomer mixture which comprises at least one thermoplastic elastomer TPE, with the exception of a thermoplastic polyurethane TPU, and at least one filler from the group of precipitated silica, or precipitated silicate or carbon black. The thermoplastic elastomer mixtures are produced by, in a first step, mixing at least one filler selected from the group of precipitated silica, or precipitated silicate or carbon black, and at least one thermoplastic to give a masterbatch and, in a second step, mixing the masterbatch with at least one thermoplastic elastomer, with the exception of a thermoplastic polyurethane TPU. The thermoplastic elastomer mixture can be used in injection-molded items.
