  • Patent number: 6513365
Abstract: A method for measuring physical properties or characteristics of liquids uses an acoustic transfer system that utilizes Rayleigh waves. A wave guide with at least one test section formed from a solid surface made from non-piezo-electric material, contacts the liquid medium to be measured and/or a transfer system. A sender sends acoustic wave energy that includes at least one Rayleigh wave, and at least part of the acoustic wave energy leaving the sender passes at least once through a mode converter on its way to the receiver, whereby this part of its wave energy is converted at least partly from a Rayleigh wave (RW) into a volume sound wave (VW) or vice versa. The physical characteristics or physical properties of the liquid are then determined using changes of at least a parameter of the Rayleigh wave.

  • Patent number: 6453617
Abstract: An adjustable carrier for connecting a window pane to a window lift of a motor vehicle door, whereby the carrier is assigned to the motor vehicle door via guiding tracks. The carrier includes a base body and a holding body. The base body is guided on the guiding tracks of the window lift, and the window pane is clamped in the holding body. The holding body can horizontally sweep in relation to the base body, and a joint connection is provided between the base body and the holding body. An adjusting element which can be operated by a tool are provided for changing the position of the holding body provided for changing the position of the holding body relative to the base body. This position is directly or indirectly changed by an actuator in such a way that the position of the holding body relative to the base body remains unchanged when loosening or fastening the window pane.

  • Patent number: 6272948
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for providing relative motion between two components of a cable window lifter which lie in the force transfer cord and are prestressed to one another, and functions as a dampener and for ensuring the provision of sensor signals for clamping protection, particularly if severe clamping leads to a sudden and complete standstill of the window pane. The device consists of a component on the casing side and a component positioned directly or indirectly thereto, on which the Bowden of a cable window lifter supports itself, whereby the two displaceable components that are connected to one another through friction locking components are pressed against reciprocally allocated stops by means of a prestressed spring. After completion of the assembly—the connection of the friction locking components is ensured against unintentional loosening through the prestressed spring or one of the components that can be displaced relative to another.

  • Patent number: 6205711
Abstract: A device for securing an adjustable window of a motor vehicle to a guide mechanism of a window lifter, having a first component with an elevated stopper and a second component with an essentially horizontal, elongated recess into which the stopper can positively lock, whereby one of the two components is connected to the window and the other component is connected to the window lifter, characterized in that the recess of the second component has an entry passage pointing in the direction of the stopper; there is an interval between the vertical central axis of the entry passage and the vertical central axis of the stopper, the horizontal dimension of the recess is at least 1.5 times the breadth of the stopper, and the stopper can be secured in order to ensure that it remains in the attachment area. Installation and adjustment of the window are simple and secure and the operational reliability of the window is thereby increased. If necessary, blind assembly is also possible.

  • Patent number: 6131482
Abstract: A device for the automatic incremental cable length compensation of a Bowden cable system having a housing side and a Bowden tube side. The device includes a cable having a pulling axis, a part on the housing side including a number of detent elements axially arranged in a direction of the pulling axis, and a part on the Bowden tube side with two spaced apart stops axially aligned in the direction of the pulling axis and displaceable relative to the part on the housing side. The cable extends through both the part on the housing side and the part on the Bowden tube side. A spring is positioned between the part on the housing side and the part on the Bowden tube side for tensioning the cable. A locking element is displaceably mounted between the two axially aligned spaced stops in the part on the Bowden tube side so that a cable length compensating detent movement can only take place after overcoming a predetermined setting distance.

  • Patent number: 6119403
Abstract: With a device for connecting a motor vehicle window pane, connected to a pane socket, to a window lifter which has a follower connected to the guide and transport element of the window lifter, the follower and the pane socket are connected together through at least two spatially separated positive locking elements which engage in succession in each other during assembly and with keyed connection in different directions. First positive locking elements are thereby connected with each other in the assembly direction of the window pane and second positive locking elements are aligned opposite relative to each other in a plane running substantially at right angles to the assembly direction of the window pane and are brought into engagement with each other through a swivel movement of the window pane after connection of the first positive locking elements.

  • Patent number: 6038817
Abstract: The invention relates to a Bowden tube window winder with compensation for cable length, which also compensates using simple means for a comparatively high level of cable elongation without excessive twisting of the cable loop. Said Bowden tube window winder is characterised in that a common locking member (10) is associated with the cable sockets and links the force of the two cable sockets (110) with the result that a movement to compensate for play of at least one cable socket can only occur when both cable sockets are substantially unloaded.

  • Patent number: 6003403
Abstract: A device for the automatic, stepped cable length compensation of a Bowden cable system in which a spring-tensioned cable is guided. The spring is supported between a part on the housing side and a part on the Bowden tube side displaceable relative thereto and having several detent elements resiliently pretensioned in the direction of the sleeve face of the part on the Bowden tube side. During displacement of the part on the Bowden tube side the detent elements engage in succession in front of the end face of this part so that a resetting movement of the part on the Bowden tube side is prevented. Each detent element is allocated a pair of stops between which the detent, element is mounted for restricted axial displacement.

  • Patent number: 5857635
Abstract: A cable drum assembly comprises a cable drum for a cable-driven apparatus such as a cable window lifter, in particular of a motor vehicle, which automatically compensates for cable slackness without deforming the window lift system. The cable drum has the advantage that it only removes the so-called genuine cable slackness present when the window lifter is in the relaxed state. The cable drum has a part for compensating the cable slackness which can be moved in relation to the outer cable drum wall and is disposed in a guide inside the cable drum. The part may be connected with one cable end of the cable loop, and that when a load is placed on the cable drum by the cable, the part is arrested on the cable drum. When the cable drum is unloaded, a spring urges the part so as to take up cable slackness.

  • Patent number: 5537782
Abstract: A displacement device for use with windows and sliding roof for motor vehicles includes a toothed rack disposed within the vehicle in a direction parallel to the displacement direction. A motor-gear housing is positioned adjacent the toothed rack and includes an electrical driver, a central shaft positioned perpendicular to the rack, and a pinion gear on the shaft that is engaged with the toothed portion of the rack. The rack and housing include guide surfaces that are positioned to correspond with one another. A guidance element is attached to the housing and the rack is interposed between the guide surfaces of the housing and the guidance element to control and guide the movement of the housing vis-a-vis the rack during activation of the electrical drive. Attachments extend from the housing and are configured to accommodate placement of an edge portion of a window therein.
